It's cool that it was built by a kid and all, but it's still a POS.

I would call it an ugly POS if it was built by a 30-year-old, so since it was built by a teenager, with respect to his talents that's still an ugly POS.

Do Not Want.

Wow, we are feeling kinda snobby this morning aren't we? ^^

The car is fast, functional and built by someone with a ton of heart and passion, but it's terrible because it's not pretty in your eyes.

Where did I say it is terrible?

Because it's not pretty in my eyes, I called it ugly. Sorry?

Outside speedo, outside oil cooler, those just seem gimmicky to me.

I watched this yesterday, and at first I thought this is retarded, then after he talked about wanted to offend people, I kind of liked the idea of building a mechanically sound car thats pretty fast, but make it ugly as possible.

I wouldnt drive it everyday but I would have fun flogging the **** out of it on the weekends.

His use of a multimeter for the fuel gauge did make me laugh

Your location says TX, but you're clearly from CA.

I think it's absolutely awesome. The kid is eccentric but the car performs and I bet it's a blast to drive. He really put a ton of time, money, and quality parts into it.

I do think, however, that some parts are over the top: Put the oil cooler back inside, put the speedometer back inside, and put a scooop or something over the hole in the hood. It's not functional as is.

You guys need to understand that he didn't care to make it look pretty. Why does it have to look pretty if you are just going to drive it hard (when i say, drive it hard, i will say with confidence that 70% of the miata community would have a hard time keeping up with this car and him). Despite his looks and age he is also one the most skilled driver ive driven with because he literally goes up in the canyons every other night for the past 4 years. He has owned a miata, an evo for a short time, a 1970 Porsche, an FD RX-7, and currently he drives this RX and his DD is a 2000 something MR2. He has experience in all platforms. AWD, RWD, Mid engine, rear engine, front engine. All he wants to do is drive not arrive in style.

But he took extra time and effort to make it especially ugly. What's the difference? Why spend extra time and effort if all you care about is how it drives? This is my problem with it. If he had done nothing at all to the looks, then I could appreciate it for its ugliness. But to me this is no different than a big wing on a civic. Sorry.

to me, its just a plain lazy builder with an excuse for it.

there are sweet sleepers, sweet cars for pure performance with little care for the paint... then there is this.

if the kid put effort into making it look ugly, he doesn't "just care about how it drives"......he's of the same mentality as the hellaflush retards putting ugly and tacky crap all over their cars just to "make the haters hate".....

in the end, he looks like a retard despite having a quick car. good job, retard

I like the effort he put into the car, all the work he did making that ghetto **** work, and the performance of it. What I cannot stand is the lack of care he put into the rest of it. Seriously, how can you dump that much money into a car just to make it uglier? And his whole reasoning for making it uglier to "**** people off" is childish. I dyed my hair black in middleschool for the same reason, thank god i grew out of that ****.

well i guess you guys are entitled to your own opinions. The car is fast and works even if it does look ugly. He is also young and therefore he has immature characteristics that reflect in his build. Just because he didn't feel like following a build by the book and creating a replica of the next guys car doesn't make it bad. It escaped my mind that a large chunk of the Miata community is made up of old geezers or ---- guys that need things to be perfect.

In the end he got a fast car out of it that made him famous on one of the most known roads in CA and he had fun doing so.

I doubt he is that famous, and I highly doubt that car will last.
