Anybody else feel like they could build a car that would out perform this in every aspect for 1/2 of the money?

Like a good portion of the cars at the GRM $20xx Challenge?

I'm reasonably sure my daily driver would push this thing's **** in. For just under $1500 total investment.

No, I can't since I am building my engine and will end up spending about the same amount.

But 1/2 of the members of this site can easily say that.

I have spent a total of $2650 dollars on rebuilding my supra engine with forged rods and pistions, along with BC cams.

Just need to spend an extra 1000 for a bigger turbo and ecu to basically tune for 600hp.

true, my car already came with teins suspension, some form of swaybars, R154 transmission, and drilled/slotted disks; along with other performance goodies.

But I predict under 6k including price of car purchase for a quick car.

GOOD looking NA miatas can be super quick for that much or even less.

Ah see I started about as wrong as you can get without knowing any better. Open diff, 5-speed, etc.

open diff is bad news. But a torsen can be had pretty cheap if you source it. At least a 1.8l diff than the 1.6l.

gayata secrets:

-Automatic 1.8l engines have a lower compression ratio, but still a metal headgasket, and exhaust side turbo feed (1994). Perfect for bigger boost on stock motors. ($500~)

-2000 1.8l heads are better for coolant flow ($200~)

-Kia water necks are gay friends for coolant reroutes ($15-$25)

-Automatic NA miata radiators are larger compacity, and have built in oil/trans cooler lines (unless you want a mishimoto radiator) ($90-$150)

-Megasquirt is pretty cheap for a standalone, and really good. ($400-$650)

you get the idea.

Doesn't matter, really....

Buy another cheap shitty base model Miata. I'll help you build something obscene, but you have to keep an open mind.

Meh. **** dat. You could get a V8R rear end in a car with half the budget of this dumb RX7 and not even care.

and then you painted everything making it look like a smurf orgy ended with casualties in there.
I've nothing but love for you dawg, but seriously, its beyond hideous (the paint that is) everything else is great.

At least its underhood though so I can't hate too much.

Just never open the hood or show anyone. Ever.

I do not see why this thread has everyone's panties in a wad. I see a young kid that has good ambition, talent, and vision, but lacks experience.

Personally I think it is a pretty good job for an early effort out of a young lad.

Yes. I post some family things, my cat, guns, and cars.

No food, half of my face, random crap on a table, or pics of my shoes...

...except the one where I am taking a dump.

MK3 poopras also make for family cars.

And there is little subtle things I have to **** people off in my own way.

I saw that video a week ago, didn't know Shaggy from Scooby Doo was building cars. So basically, this hipster kid needed attention and he dumped a ton of cash into this ridiculous build. His hipster buddy posted it on here for extra attention and was elated to find that no one liked it; he wanted to use it as an excuse to start controversy and tell you all what haters you are. Typical trolling, hipster b.s.

Despite his looks and age he is also one the most skilled driver ive driven with because he literally goes up in the canyons every other night for the past 4 years. He has owned a miata, an evo for a short time, a 1970 Porsche, an FD RX-7, and currently he drives this RX and his DD is a 2000 something MR2. He has experience in all platforms. AWD, RWD, Mid engine, rear engine, front engine. All he wants to do is drive not arrive in style.
All he wants to do is get attention, and so do you. I'm pretty sure over 70% of the Miata community(avid road racers, autocrossers, etc) would destroy your friend, with all his canyon "skills" and deathtrap RX7. Seriously, the Miata is one of, if not the most raced model of vehicle on earth, you should know better.

The only track time i know of that he has is in Lemons racing when he was 17 i think. He didn't care much for the track since he lived at the bottom of a road that is much more versatile than any track around.
Except you did say he was faster than 70% of Miata owners. Read your comment above and avoid contradicting yourself further.
