Finally bought an XBox 360!
I've got 4 original XBoxes on a LAN right now but with Halo3 and the new Grand Theft Auto getting ready to come out I figured it was time to spend a little on a 360. I built/chipped the original XBoxes myself but this time I decided to pay someone to do it. I purchased a refurb'd box that had a few mods (reflowed solder joints, xclamp mod, new DVD firmware) done to it as well as a modified DL-DVD burner for my PC so I can back up my games. I use 31" and 36" CRT monitors for the originals and I hope the 360 will look good enough on them (they give a max of 800x640 resolution). If not, I'll probably buy some sort of 30"+ hi-def flatscreen. Of course, I would rather just stick with what I have so I don't have to spend any more $$$ but we will have to see how the 360 looks at 4:3 and low resolution.
Also, since I was down to only 50 current projects I decided to upgrade the PCs in my Mame machines. I built them in '99 and have no idea how the hell I did it. It sucks revisiting old projects when you have forgotten everything (getting Win98 to run in DOS only mode, getting a SB Live card to run in Dos, etc).

The difference between the 360 on low rez and high def is pretty dramatic. I use an old school lcd projector at home but my friend has a high def flatscreen. I kinda prefer low def depending on my mood. If im just casually enjoying my games, i like the low def look but if im going multiplayer and need to see a target clearly for something like a headshot, high def is the way to go.
