John Player Special, driven by Mario Andretti:

A Can-Am car that pulled out of a parking garage downtown, and drove on the street like it was nothing:

What is this little car! Beautiful.

Too bad the silver Jag 140 in the middle had the ghey skirts. The xk120 to 150 were some of the prettiest cars ever built.

I'm guessing by the front pic of the Alfa GTV that you are a fan also. If you haven't driven one, try to. The old alfa engine revs so freely it's unreal. Redline every shift even at part throttle and it just loves it. Never feels strained at all.

If I ever take up real racing, historics would be my 1st choice. Some little roadster like our Miata's are emulating.

I HATE 90% of your state, but where you live is one of my favorite 5 places on the planet.

I think I have a pic of this car circa 2002 without the stripes. Unfortunately it's on old school film.

Don't know too much about them, honestly. If I ever get the chance though (insha'Allah...) I'll try to, sounds like a fun car!

I didn't know it was anything special, I guess I should've snapped a better pic. What's the R3 all about?

My bro lives in Miami... Sadly there isn't many good back roads or tracks in Florida. You still live in one of the most amazing places on the planet. I hope you take advantage of it while you are there.

I plan on it, I got into the Historics for free, there's AMA Superbike in September and ALMS in October, those will be free also. And to top it off, since I volunteer for these things and pull security, I get closer to the track than I'd otherwise be able to, and earn hours toward an award from the Army for pulling 100 volunteer hours. Sucks to be me, eh?

Not of particular specialness, however its the brand new updated 09' version which I don't beleive is out yet and it also is the top of the line R3 version.

PS: state of Florida flag Koto

The alfa's aren't awesome, just fun. Never been in a car with an engine that revs so freely.

Tough you being in Laguna's backyard and a car/ bike guy. Can you feel the envy?

You couldn't be in a better spot for your training. Just think, you could have been in GA with the heat, humidity, bugs, TX or AZ with extreme heat, maybe UT with nothing to do or see. Heck, it's likely a nice break from your home state for the summer!

Funny you should mention those spots...

My AIT was in southern AZ, last assignment was in GA, and when I'm done here, TX is my next stop. From there, no idea. Probably back to GA..
