Default Turbo downpipe placement?

I am just curious about running my downpipe, now I know that everybody runs them down and under the car (how they should be) but why not run thru the driver side fender or the hood? Now I'm not saying this is what I'm gonna do but I mean all the Hondas guys do it...(that was a joke). But seriously what are the pros and cons?

It's loud, ignorant and uneducated.

But seriously what are the pros and cons?
Pros:
Slightly reduced exhaust backpressure.

Cons:
If you do this, not only will I:
  • Come into your house at night,
  • Kick your dog,
  • Rape your children,
  • Urinate into the urn containing the ashes of your grandmother, and
  • Sodomize you to death with a toilet plunger*,
But I will also ban you from this forum**.

* = this actually happened to a guy I knew back in high school. His name was Richard Montgomery, and he was a complete *******. I mean, if you were to poll every single person in the US with question "Who do you feel most deserved to be tied to a tree in the woods outside Jones Loop road in Punta Gorda, FL and sodomized to death with a toilet plunger while being filmed?" more than 50% of respondents would unquestionably answer "Richard Montgomery." In fact, Richard was such a complete douchebag that I have no qualms whatsoever about posting a photo of his dead, mutilated corpse 20 years later:

** = unless this is an actual track car, in which case forget about all the toilet-plunger-sodomy stuff. We're cool, bro.

I think it's a great idea. In fact, you should run it through your hood today. If you don't do it, then your'e all talk. In for the clips.

That's okay you can ban me you seem like a ******* ***** anyways. I mean I did say in the thread that I do not plan on doing this to my car was just a question as to why people do run there down pipes through the hood or the fender and what the pros and cons would be for it

I vote sidepipes, like a 60's Cobra or Corvette. But only one, on the passengers side.

Free wideband.
Increases butt dyno power
Less backpressure
and gets u high to boot.

I see no negatives.

Better yet, for the butt dyno, run it through the firewall and up through the bottom of your seat...
