2013 revlimiter.net Driver's Calendar(s)
I asked Brainy about this and he gave me the go ahead. So here goes.
Cliff notes: I've either made or been involved in the making of the CR calendars for the last 3 years. I'm not a mod over there anymore, so the calendar doesn't have to be all CR cars anymore. I'm making it myself with my site as the sponsor. MT has never had a calendar and I think that's something in need of fixing, so I'm asking for photo submissions from y'all.
Here's what I've posted on other Miata boards.
There's two calendars. Most folks from MT will probably want the Logo Cover version. It has more track cars.
Rules-
The Details-
FAQ-
If you read all of that, you'll notice I talked about making two calendars if I get enough submissions. Hell, I'd not mind doing three (not much more work than one). I'd love it if one of those calendars could be filled with all track cars. Cars from MT.
And again, I'm not looking to make much or any profit doing this. The benefit to me will be calendars in my offices and having my site logo on each one. That's it.
So hit me up with pix of your cars! Let me make a Miata calendar for this site that's given me so much awesome technical info.

Try not to buy anything from cafepress without a coupon. There's ALWAYS tons of coupons scattered around the web. Couponchief always has some working ones.
[/SIZE]Rules-
- Email one (1) photo to calendar@revlimiter.net before October 1st, 2012.
- It must be YOUR car. And that car must be a Mazda Miata/MX-5/Roadster.
- The photo must be 6 megapixel minimum. That's 3000x2000. The photo must also be landscape (that's when it's wider than it is tall).
- No watermark please. It will either be removed or disqualify your photo from the running.
- Send your name as you want it to appear on the calendar. If you want your username to appear, send that in the email. If you want your full name, send that.
- Feel free to post your car in this thread. But that won't help you get into the calendar. Your photo must be emailed.
- Are you a sponsor on a board somewhere and would like to submit your shop car? Sweet! Do it! Any Miata is eligible.
The Details-
- There will be no voting. I will choose cars that I like. One of them will probably be Sharka. That leaves 11 spots. At LEAST 11 spots.
- Yes, I said "at least." If I get a lot of high quality submissions, I'll make two different calendars. Hell, if I get a bunch of awesome stuff that would look good on a wall, I'll make three calendars.
- Calendars will be print-on-demand handled by cafepress. They make really nice stuff. Well... they make really nice calendars. I've always been impressed by them.
- Calendars will be priced as low as possible. I'm not looking to make much, if any profit on these. I just want a nice calendar to hang in my office and to be able to offer others the same thing.
- This calendar is not affiliated with any specific Miata forum. It's just me putting something together. It's purely a product of my own business, revlimiter.net LLC.
FAQ-
- Q: can I submit interior shots? A: YES!!! But one shot only please.
- Q: Can I submit a bunch of shots and have you choose? A: Umm... I'd rather not. Please just send one. Put your best foot forward.
- Q: Can I change my mind and send a new pic? A: Sure! The one closest to October 1st will be considered your submission.
- Q: Will winners get a free calendar? A: Since I'm not printing them, I can't really do that. I'm sorry. But I might do something where winners can get some store credit for any of the products I actually make. Gonna think about this for a bit.
- Q: What if I send a collage of several pix? A: Please don't. I'll have to crop all of the photo submissions to fit the cafepress requirement. I can't remember what it is off the top of my head, but it's nearly square. If you sent a carefully laid out collage, I'd just have to mangle it. So, please just send a single photo.

Everyone knows which photo they think is the best. The difficult thing is telling others which one that is. Most don't have that much faith in their own judgement.
And yay, submissions! Thanks.

One more week?
I am going to the dragon october 10th i was hoping to get a cool picture from then.
Oh well, i'll find another.
Is this site going to have it's own calendar, or mixed with all the submissions?

I don't have enough submissions to do more than one calendar currently. And, as far as I know, only 2 MT folks have submitted anything. So... no, no separate Track Car Calendar. Unless about 20 folks get busy and send me some pix.

There WILL be 2 calendars this year. Unfortunately, there won't be a "track car only" calendar. I got 5 submissions that could be considered track cars. Not enough for a whole calendar.
I'm emailing folks to clear up username/name choices now. Don't worry if you don't get an email. Many folks were very clear in telling me what name to put on the calendar.
Could a mod edit the first post to show that submissions are closed? Just delete the calendar email address maybe?

Alas, perhaps next year. My car is just too ugly to be on a calender. I'm painting it this year, along with a 1.8 swap and new turbo setup. I live in Taos, so maybe we can get together for some pics rev I'd love to see your car in person.

Oh, I decided yesterday. I photoshopped everything and put it in the template. I'll upload them today and order proof calendars. Then once I get them, I'll color-correct and re-upload and share the links with everyone.
And yes, you made the calendar.
That would be cool! I enjoy a good Miata gathering. I'm up for it nearly any time. Just has to be a time when orders and family allow.
Next year indeed! I hope to keep doing these. This year was so SO much easier than previous years. Not having the voting popularity contest to suck a couple weeks of my life away was the best thing ever. Unfortunately, people just have me to hate on if/when their cars didn't make it...

Cafepress just gave me the middle finger.
I got everything uploaded last night and ordered the test calendars. Then, a few minutes ago, I got an email saying some of my images "might violate copyright and have been removed."
UGH.
So... I'm assuming that I won't be able to get them back or use cafepress this year. I'm now looking at different options. Zazzle and lulu seem to have decent reviews. The redbubble calendar looks nice too, but is more expensive. And I could do a local printing and just mail these myself.
Whatever happens, I'll keep at it. I hope to have this squared away this week.
