Default Street Racing?

So do you guys think street racing it wrong? I believe it can be done safely but get a really bad image from the people who race in traffic. I have some older friends who think it is really bad and a bunch of other friends who don’t think any thing of it. The way we race is: Take up all lanes on highway and slow to a 20mph roll so with in seconds everyone in front of you is gone. Three honks and go . We normally run at like 11pm on wed. So there isn’t much traffic any ways. Just thought it would make a fun poll.

They used to do it that way on the streets here - until the current affairs people got all over it and the police got all over it and now street racing is bad mmmmmmmm'kay?

Hey i figure if you are on a deserted raod and there is little to no chance of something going wrong why not. Esp if you feel you arent being setup for the cops, ot pull you over.

No.

Street racing is never okay in my book, no matter how deserted the street is. You're always taking a chance on hurting yourself or someone else (or even dying, obviously). I passed through the Fast & the Furious phase in about 3 months because I realized just how stupid it was after seeing too many accidents.

everyone comes along somebody sometime that will run ya light to light. I've got nothing wrong with that if you're the first cars at the light and nobody is in front of you. Go for it. But the weaving in traffic and acting like a jackass, not so much.

same here. light-to-light drags are fun.

I just dont trust the public roads at high speeds. you don't know the other driver. you don't know the road surface. you don't know what wild animal, jackass, or whatever will show up in front of you at any given time.

0 tolerance for anything on the street. There are legitimate places to do it... goto them.

hey track days are ******* expensive and autoX is slow and boring. drag racing is ok but with a 6 inch rear i am limited on what i can lauch at.
Also drags dont use the full potential of my car if i made 60+K a year like some of you guys i would compete in track days etc. but i make 1/2 that so i do what i can where i can.
If i die then so be it do you realy want me around anyway? I understand the risks i take and i dont involve anyone else. so get off your high horse, there moneybags

if you have enough money to own a car, you have enough money to take it to a track.

everyone has a cellphone. you will get caught.

your racing scenario will sound really good as testimony at an involuntary manslaughter trial.

you're in austin. go look into the Spokes car club a very good friend of mine is the president. learn your limits in a safe environment, not on the public roads.

Its a Bad choice to even attempt street racing in florida, I've done it plenty of times....that is until my fiance came to live with me, Cops are horrible down here, I learned to hard way with carless speeding(tickets, lost wages that could have been used towards my project,time....Its just not worth the risk, keep it on the track and and have your freedom, race on the streets risk killing sombody else and going to jail for manslaughter, my fam is more important than the thrill of a moment, No tolerance for people who drive like ******* lunitics on the street.

You dont have to drive like a lunatic to drive fast on the street obviosly you should never over drive your car or push the limits. It is nice ot know that most other cars are well below the limits of your ride though.

this is all very true, people are always wanting to put streeters behind bars especially since everyone and their grandmother has a cell phone they can easily call in your tag to the authorities, A friend of mine is currently in jail for street racing(a police set-up) It was aa big bust more than 30 people arrested that night, how did it happen "police in hopped up undercover import cars and a sc 05 mustang....tricky pigs they are.

Alright ladies, seems like Ive seen this convo a million times before. I dont think anyones gonna change their ways, and everyones said their peace.

This poll doesnt make sense at all, the options, yes and no makes sense, but the yes if done right and save it for the track.... err so if you click yes, is that yes if done wrong?

Its a yes or no question doubling the options dont make sense

Yeah they can’t do anything if someone calls you in and they are not there. They must see you doing it, or have you on video doing it with you plates. I have been around street racing for two years never seen an accident. Only 2 people getting tickets (They were on bikes why the **** would you stop?) and one person go to jail (Stock CRX) sucks to be slow.... I think Fast and the Furious really gave it a bad name and a lot of people think its really like that. Fast and the furious really fucked the car would over if you ask me.
