It is a promo, but for a whole year and after that it only goes up to 25/month.
I am truly amazed at how stupid I was paying 60/month for the absolutely WORST customer service company I have ever encountered in my entire life (COMCAST) when I could have been with ATNT all this time. Oh well, better late than never.
No idea lol, but it sure beats the hell out of what I got for 60/month with comcast.
I would much rather gnaw off my own ***** and choke on them and die before I'll go back to comcast.

The accuracy of this test is laughable.
Seeing as I just finished downloading a file at 3.8MB/s which should put me at around 38Mb/s on this test...
Oh and my upload is usually around 1MB/s.
Well using Dallas is a little bit better...
The test doesn't go long enough... my **** is usually still climbing when it ends.

interesting to note that alot of people still aren't aware that telephone compaines are now offering dsl without phone service
Have bellsouth DSL here and I love it, no issues with going up or down, pretty rock solid compared to the local cable co and its offerings.
Plus the DSL is a static ip for no charge, while cable will not offer a static ip to resdential at all.

AT&T (was originally Bellsouth pre merger) DSL was unreliable at my house with frequent outages, a few of them being long term--as in a week or more, with one lasting nearly a month. When I originally signed up, dry DSL was not available. Post merger, dry DSL was technically available, but AT&T made it difficult to set up. When I finally got them to agree to the service as ordered by law, the price they offered me was the same as what I was already paying for the combined service with phone, so there was no advantage for me.
My AT&T bill was $58/mo for DSL and phone. The voice line was never used.
My Comcast bill is $28/mo including the $5 modem rental fee. My internet service is 15x faster down and 13x faster up than it was with AT&T.
I did not have static IP with AT&T--it was no charge on the higher speed package that was not available in my neighborhood. I do not have static IP with Comcast. Zero sum and it makes no difference to me.

Guess its different depending on where you live. In my area Comcast will have outages EVERY SINGLE EVENING most times for more than 2-3 hours. I called them numerous times, and the response was always the same: we are working on it, nothing we can do to help you. Got tired of that after 3 months of "we're working on it". ATNT is excellent and only went down once on me so far, and only for 10 minutes.
My bro has comcast in a completely different part of town and never has problems so yeah.

I have an 8Mb ADSL connection in Istanbul.
We'll be getting a 32Mb fiberoptic connection any day now. The cable work is done already.
There are talks of bumping the speed up to 100Mb once all the kinks are worked out.

Here at the VBC in Baghdad we have to choices. 1) MIT (not the college) that gets you around 100KBps with a 8GB/mo cap for $65. 2) Jackal that has multiple tiers, the highest being 2.5Mbps with around a 12GB/mo cap for $240. I've been using MIT and its good enough to play black ops with a ping of around 170 to servers in Germany and England.
This result is to a local server in Kuwait. Its def inflated. The largest continuous d/l speed I ever get is 100KB.
