The real motivation is CONTROL over the internet. It's the nose of the camel in the tent. You let it in, pretty soon your sleeping beside the camel, and boy they stink!

Those with a vested interest in controlling the flow of information WANT TO CENSOR OR CONTROL the internet. That means anyone whose reputation can be hurt by the internet. That includes BP, politicians, and any other people in power.
