Pretty much...

Unrelated:

During the period of 1999-2004, when I was at Harris Broadcast's main campus in Mason, OH, I became very good friends with a particular green Ford Aerostar van owned by the company.

Not the actual van, but it looked identical.

This van had lived a hard life. The transmission slipped, it was noisy and hot, and it burned oil like a ****. But god damn, that thing was a champion. I drove it from coast to coast and border to border, and it never let me down.

I developed a certain routine with it. Any time I changed the oil in my own car, I first cleaned the drain pan thoroughly, and after the change, I poured the old oil back into the bottles that the new oil I just put into the engine came in. I then brought these to work and tossed them into an old milk crate which I kept in my cube. Any time I needed to take the green van out on a long trip, I'd bring the crate with me. Every morning, I'd pop the hood, check the oil, and re-fill as necessary from my used oil collection. If it was an all-road day, I'd also do this at a rest stop in the early afternoon.

This worked extremely well. For the whole five years I used that thing, I managed to achieve a nearly perfect balance. I never ran out of old oil, and I never used so much of it that the milk crate was totally empty. There was something vaguely Zen about the arrangement.

Pop off the valve cover (4 minutes) and push the front cam seal back into place.

dickhole room mate doesn't always wants to chill. Would rather watch torrented plane malfunctions from documentaries & be a douche overall. Lets see what happens when the VPN user/pw doesn't work this month of renewal.

Trust me, It's fire with fire this way being passive aggressive towards ******* roommate Any more and we'd be at each others throats.

And I didn't have to do anything other than let the account expire, which was actually yesterday according to my e-mail. I got back from the bar & he offered to pay for the subscription Doesn't know how to purchase for himself.

Granted though, I'm lucky to have a roof over my head & a bed to sleep on that's not mine while I finish up my car.

There's an outside chance I may be appearing in the upcoming Turkish version of Junkyard Wars.

No, I will not be portraying a derelict powerplant. More like a team member.

I got news from my former employer that I passed the 3G position (vertical, up) for the welding certification course we were doing with state grant money at work. Now I wait to hear if I passed the 4G (overhead) as well.

Both were just DC stick welding, but it feels good because I had maybe 10hrs of welding experience before taking the course, and those were all MIG spread out over the past 8 years.

I am in.

There was a meeting today. I got to do an interview on camera, and the director shook my hand and told me they would like to shoot the show with me.
Then the producer said the same thing.

I'm pretty stoked.

That's awesome.

I had no idea that sort of show was still around. The UK series Scrapheap Challenge was quite entertaining. The US version, somewhat less so...

What's the show called in Turkey?

When does shooting start? Send me a pm with your address and I can try to mail you out some mt.net and turbokitty decals. Would be awesome if you could get them in the show some how.

I was trying to think of something along the lines of war with Russian and using newly acquired Su-25 parts.

But I failed.

So cool!

Yes, we definitely would love to see a Miataturbo reference on the show.

Team ALLOFIT, TURBOKITTY, or something like that would be funny.

I have recently decided that the word "up" is inaccurate or at least a misconception.

When we say up, we are indicating that we mean "away from the strongest pull of gravity we currently feel" and not some uniform, universal direction. At best, up only addresses your present location until you move. Then it is "that way" and you have a new up.

If I wanted to be more accurate, what would the word be? Out? Away? Starward? Anti-core?

I need lunch.

Anti-radial would be "up". Parallel to the plane of orbit, and perpendicular to direction of orbit, or prograde. Really inefficient way to rotate the orbit around sphere of influence.
