So bored right now. 35 minutes left in my shift and it's dead. I've worn the internet out.

Eww, shipping an exhaust system is $$$. What would you shipping types recommend for best rates? I typically use UPS for everything, and they quote anything between $90 and $190 depending on if it's 42'' long, or 48'' long, or 60lb vs 70lb. I guess I'll have to bundle this bitch up tight, or ship it in pieces as separate shipments.

Using this money to fund a new project... and it's not Miata.

Foresters are bad ***!

It's a 1st gen RX7 with a Ford 302. Spent today stripping **** off, and cleaning up to prepare. The only expensive and hard part of the entire build is the rear end ****. Going to end up costing about $2000 for the rear end stuff, about the same as the rest of the entire build combined. It will be carbed to keep with the time of the car, plus I want to keep it electronics free as possible. I've wanted a V8 RX7 for a LOOONG time. Of course I would prefer a turbo LS1 FD, but I'm not that baller at the moment.

Try freightquote.com for a quote.

I have a agent with them and he calls me on the regular to see how business is and if I'm expecting any big shipments coming up. Friendly, helpful and always gets me the best prices. I hate UPS.

I'm nervous for spring to come because that means I'll be more inclined to start spending money on miata parts again. lol

Its been almost a year since I bought anything for it.

dude just do EXACTLY what needs to be done to get it on the road and running good and enjoy it.

I was starting to get tired of my miata for a while between all the modifications and fixing **** and it being down all the time. I can't even imagine having it down as long as yours is.

once I got my current setup in and got it running smooth/good I just straight up stopped messing with it.

Plan to do a little more tuning soon and turn up the boost a bit more, but definitely not changing anything on it hardware/mods wise.

I can't be happier. Just enjoying it. No more bullshit. No more down time. Just hop in and drive and enjoy.

You should do the same. Your car is ****. STOP ******* with it. It doesn't need more mods.

No, I'm building one though. Already had an FB sitting around, and 302's are dirt cheap and plentiful, as well as after market support for the 302... seems like a no brainer. Won't really even upset the cars balance much. Add about 150lb in the front, but I will also be adding a relocated battery to the rear, as well as a beefier and heavier 8.8 rear, so it shouldn't be too bad, just about 250lb heavier, which still puts it in as a light weight compared to most V8 cars. The stock 302 is weak **** though, and will HAVE to be modified, of course. If I can see 325whp, I will be pleased. Plus that excellent Mustang-ish sound is so nice. (Flowmaster)

The car has sat so long that I'm worried about the fact that the exhaust manifold has been open to the elements. No car cover, just snow cover. lol

At first I was going to try and look for another 1.6, rip it apart and build it with some better internals for peace of mind. Now I'm thinking I'll just send my Garrett out for a re-build and throw that back on and hope for the best.

When I had the Greddy turbo setup on the car is when I drove it the most and it was the most reliable. Ever since I went 2.0 I haven't really had the time to just drive it and enjoy it. Hopefully that will change this year.
