Default All I want for Christmas controls my fuel and spark.

I think I'm going to ask for the MegaSquirt-I Programmable EFI System PCB3.0 - Kit w/ BLACK CASE. Any reason I should conceder the PCB2.2 kit? Looking at the differences it seems the PCB3.0 is worth the extra $50. It will be in an otherwise stock car for the time being, I just want to get comfortable with MS before doing anything else.

I'm almost getting tired of complaining about it now, but I can't help but be infuriated every time I experience it. Driving home in the dark, and I see 4 goddamn cars within my 15 mile drive with their ******* lights off. I tried to flash all of them to let them know, and none of them responded by turning their lights on. Then you have the ******** who can't be inconvenienced to use their ******* turn signals. I get especially infuriated by this at one particular stop sign near my house, around rush hour. It turns off a side road, the main route from the interstate to the main highway running through my city, and at rush hour, people coming home from highway 280, a very busy local highway, waiting at that stop sign, you can be there for as long as 5 minutes. Every goddamn time I am at that sign waiting to get out, I am screwed by some lazy *** people who either fail to use their signal and ruin a perfectly good chance to pull out, or they turn it on last second and again, **** me and everyone behind me. I nearly jumped out of my car and chased someone on foot the other day when they screwed me particularly badly at that sign. THEN, you have the stupid and lazy, inconsiderate fucktards who can't figure out it's common courtesy, law, and safety common sense to turn your ******* lights on when it's raining. I'd be willing to throw out a number around 60% as to those who do not turn them on when it's raining. Seeing a white or gray car in heavy rain with the spray, is nearly impossible with lights on, let alone with no lights. Most of these people are driving newer cars with automatic lights, so I guess they just like being extra douchy and turn them off manually.

If I were put into a place to have power over law and enforcement in my area, I would crucify people over these "simple" laws. They simply are not enforced strongly enough, and people just don't give a ****. Driving is a privilege and should be done with good intent and safety, but people just hop in the car and do everything but drive. Getting and keeping a license should be magnitudes more difficult. At least half of the people I see driving around shouldn't be allowed to do so. Can't get to work? Too ******* bad, you should have thought about that before driving illegally. The country is full of goddamn lazy retards. I'm reminded of this fact every time I walk out of the house.

End rant, for now. I'll be back on my soap box in a few more days.

Somebody use to have a bunch of information on megasquirt kits in there sig, might have been Braineack. I'm trying to decide which megasquirt kit I want to buy (MS1 2.2 or MS1 3.0 probably) and what stuff I need to get with the kit, and IIRC somebody had some really good info.
Any ideas?

Nothing relating to MS1. Unless you're buying the board for cheap and then sticking a MS2 or 3 CPU on to it.

It's not there anymore, but I'm 99% sure it was Braineack. Or maybe it was Joe Perez...

No I'm telling you. Don't use MS1.

It's from the dinosaur era and has almost no relation to MS2/3

The only MS-related item I've had in my sig is the protest against the ongoing secrecy of the MS3 schematics which is still there. Do your part and mail a coconut today.

Long story short: buy an MS3*.

* disclaimer: I have a partially-assembled MS1 on my workbench right now that I'm building for my '90. The MS1 isn't obsolete, it's mature.

No reason to go with the MS1 right now, unless you are on a very, very tight budget.

Thanks Scotty & Joe. I don't want to get off topic in the Rambling thread so I'm taking this over to MEGAsquirt where it belongs. Did searches to little avail, so I guess I have to ask and get my flame suit on.

Screw it, i'll just ask here.

I assume the MS2 isn't rocket science compared to the MS1, and it's just $60 more then the MS1 3.0 I was looking at, so my question is, is it worth it or am I waisting money? I like the simplicity of MS1 but if the MS2 truly is better, then I'll go for it. But, if MS1 has a ton more support in the way of people using it then maybe it's the wise choice, or are enough people using MS2 for this not to be an issue?
Here's what I'm looking at:
MS1 3.0 vs MS1 3.0 w/ mapdaddy4 vs MS2.
I assume I'll need other stuff to to build the kits but I'll worry about that later.

If y'all feel is a FAQ then let me know and I'll just make a thread.

MS2 has tons of support, is easier to work with and has vastly more features (including 16x16 tables, 0.1 degree accuracy in spark and 0.001ms in fuel, etc). Do it right the first time.
