BTW, both Subarus are 5MT, so they both have real differentials in the center. I know the Legacy's was viscous LSD and I'm about 99% sure the Impreza uses exactly the same part. I will say that the Legacy center diff was so gummy that on hot summer days it would buck like a 4WD truck with the steering at full lock.
It has aftermarket sways and the rear diff bushing:

Seriously, there was a time when I was militant in my anti-MS ways (though I was not alone.) But since Bill Gates stepped down they really don't leave that bad taste in my mouth anymore. Meanwhile, Ubuntu has taken such a seriously wrong turn that I'm losing hope for the future of linux.

I used to be a hardcore Amiga bigot may years ago, but these days I don't really care so much about the political aspects of the OS. I run some variant of Windows on most of my machines for the simple reason that the applications which I most commonly need to use to do my job are Windows-native.
Apple products can still suck a dick, but that has mostly to do with what I deem to be hideously inelegant design. I elect not to use IE for the same reason. By comparison, MS Office has been one of the most elegant and refined spreadsheet / word processor combos for at least a decade.
In other words, I just use whatever is best for the application at hand. At work, some of the stuff that we manufacture uses embedded ARM9 processors running compact WinCE, while other of our products run Linux on the same processor. Each was chosen for its suitability for a specific purpose.

I'm reminded of the "It would be bad" dialogue from Ghostbusters.
Assuming that by "aftermarket" you mean something with a significantly higher springrate, and not something like a Racing-Beat spring which is shorter than stock but not significantly stiffer, this is a good way to make the car feel a lot floatier / bouncier.
What, if I may ask, are you trying to accomplish here?

What would happen if I played iRacing on my old computer? I have a notebook with 4GB of RAM, 2.6ghz i3, and I have no idea what the video card specs are. I plan to just plug-in HDMI for my gigantic TV.
Will it look like ****, look choppy, or what?

This configuration exceeds the minimum hardware requirements, except of course that all* laptops have shitty video chipsets.
So it'll run, but with a low framerate. Presumably, you will be able to decrease the resolution and detail settings in order to partially compensate for this.

I am not the Subie expert, even on a Miata site, but as I understand it the center differential on some of them (AT in particular) isn't really a differential at all. Full power is delivered to the rear all of the time while power to the front is delivered via some kinda PWM controlled device. It sounds cool since you get pretty much what it feels like my car is doing: RWD with front assist, except that you get to control the amount of front assist. If I cared more I'd research it and provide links to info etc., but I don't have it so don't care.

Hustler, I like linux. The computer I'm typing this on is running it. The problem I have with Ubuntu is that the interface has so many things wrong with it that just have to wonder why they did it. To those that would accuse me simply not tolerating change, you're wrong. I tried both Unity and Gnome 3 for weeks. I learned how to use them and ended up with a long list of solid reasons why they suck.
I'm running Gnome classic on this computer which is a weak imitation of where Gnome 2 was going, but it doesn't ask me to pretend I'm using a touch screen when I'm not (a la tablet) and then an instant later make me use a mouse cursor in heroic ways that really are NOT necessary. All in the name of looking cool and modern.
Anyway, it all depends on what you want to do, but if you're not a computer geek then you'll probably just end up frustrated because it requires figuring things out sometimes. Ubuntu was on track to improve that, but then they started thinking they're smarter than they really are.

It's all up to your personal preferences.
In terms of image quality, I have no problem playing Sonic or Metroid on the 55" HD set. In terms of smoothness of gameplay (frames per second), that's going to suck* on any size screen with that GPU.

I really liked the general layout of Ubuntu 10 w/ Gnome 2.32.1. Everything seemed to be in a logical and easily-accessible place. This is the build that I keep in a VM, as well as on a LiveCD for when I need to access the root filesystem of a Windows machine.
I recently tried whatever build is being distributed now, and I was flabbergasted. My initial impression was "it's like they took the look and feel of Win 8 and made it even more hostile and confusing."

went to finally fix the idle issue, found this
wanted to change to a newer throttle body for the inset idle air passages and discover the 4wire tps on my car wont mount to the throttle body, and i dont know what i would have to do to convert it to the three wire that the TB came with. any ideas?

Old wire (car) -- New wire (NB TPS pigtail) -- [function]
green / white -- green / red -- [12 volts]
black / blue -- black / red -- [sensor GND]
red / black -- green / black -- [TPS signal]
The red wire in the car harness will not be used.
