I will post a full write up as soon as I have the time.

I also wanted to work the kinks out a bit before I posted anything, in the name of not having to edit stuff later.

Ouch.
I had to deal with 4 fractured ankles in the family over the past 8 months.
I think I am qualified to say "I can feel your pain".

This week marks my wife's 6th month since the incident, and she is able to walk at this time.
She has 9 screws, a self tensioning fixator and a 6" metal plate in her ankle.

geeze thats really intense, I was told I was VERY lucky I didnt need any internal bracing, just need the giant boot, but he couldnt tell me when i can walk on it again seeing how ankles are finicky areas to heal.

The throbbing aching however, I cant seem to kill it with the prescription medication, so i guess im going to have to deal with it.

My wife says you should join this group. She's a mod there.
She says there are all kinds of people with fractured ankles sharing tips and whatnot in the group.

I was at some jumps and I bailed to avoid a bigger injury, all my weight transferred through my ankle and caused small, but VERY painful fractures.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

On another note, did anybody catch the story about this guy that was just in the news:

I'll say he's lucky to look as good as he does. If it was me, I don't think he'd still be breathing.
