Leaving for the annual camping trip. Me, my brother, three guys we've known since high school. These days, wives and kids are included, so it's a bit more tame than the multi-day drinking binge it was in the past. This will mark the 30th year I have been going.

3 weeks of full-time building our endurance car and we pop a 15k engine on our first and only test day. This is why we can't have nice things.

How the heck do you spend €15k on an engine? Are the bearings impregnated with powdered unicorn-horn?

Ouch.

So how bad was the failure?

EDIT: Wait, 12:1 on an enduro motor? I don't know how well this will translate into Dutch, but:

Head looks like it was shot with a pellet gun. All 4 pistons have molten ring lands. Pretty spectacular actually.

Is it odd I put random things in my coffee at times instead of the usual sugar and creamer? My latest mix is maple syrup and a bit if sugar. Previous to that was like a half teaspoon of Nutella and let it melt/stir in. At work, I dump a pack of Swiss Miss hot chocolate powder into my cup before pouring my coffee (this one is pretty good).

Unrelated: I just got out of bed, at 1pm (crashed out at 11:30pm), because on I'm off today and tomorrow. This is the first time I've gotten more than 6 hours of sleep in weeks.

My 'breakfast' today is maple syrup coffee and trail mix. Lunch will come around 5pm in the form of a grilled peanutbutter sandwich.

I must try this.

I was drunk with nearly no food in the house, so I made a grilled cheese with peppered Feta....didn't really melt, but was warm and soft.

Pretty tasty.

Yes.

I will never understand the compulsion to put a bunch of stuff into coffee to make it taste like something other than coffee.

(Same goes for tea.)

Because sometimes terrible coffee is terrible, but you still need coffee.

Here I agree with you. If you feel the need to put stuff in tea, you need to be drinking different tea.

The rules to the polisher giveaway contest should be amended with "failure to read the rules prior to posting will result in ban."

Because some coffee tastes like ****, but is still worth the caffeine...and when it's available at work for free. I know there are all of those fancy-pants creamers, but I can't say I've seen people using things like syrup and Nutella in their coffee
