How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways

So, get this. Mom's house, preparing for a garage door opener installation, which was a Christmas gift. I have my 10 year old son helping me, and I’m installing an outlet in the garage where the old porcelain overhead light was. We have the switch turned off, and my son is holding the flashlight so I can see.
But, I’m having problems getting the metal cover onto the outlet, so I take it off so I can work on a surface, instead of overhead. Get the cover on, and go back in the garage to install it. So far, so good.
Then my idiot brother decides to stick his nose in.
As we go back into the garage, I tell my son to turn on the light.
Unbeknownst to me, id10T turned on the switch to the outlet AS I WAS WORKING ON IT! Because, you know, when two people are working on something, and one says to turn on the light, you turn on the outlet where a light was before. Even though you were not part of the group working on anything. Even though the light is gone.
Naturally, it shocked me. Naturally, it arced and burned my finger. Naturally, I swore.
I swear, my brother is a retard.
