A friend has a beastly EVO IX. The thing is a monster. 2.3 liter, 900 hp engine.
He invested about $50K on the mods after he bought the car. Built for the F1 track in Istanbul.
The car is limited to 500 hp or so till it's all set for the track. There is some more work to be done.
He let me drive the car in the city for about 15 miles while he was following me in his DD to take the car to a couple shops to get some minor cutting/welding done . Stop and go traffic is a nightmare.
But...
He pulled up next to me and asked me to just redline it in 2nd and 3rd.
I did. Several times.
Hory ****.
One second I am toodling along traffic at 40 mph, and then... blur.

I feel like "Miata" should be a mass noun, as in does not require an "s" to indicate multiple Miata. Much like how the word "moose" or "poo" can be used to indicate multiples based on context or usage. "Look at that (singular) moose" vs "Look at those (multiple) moose."
I've seen people use "Miate" or "Miatae" (as in "minutiae") to indicate a group of Miata, but that just makes me ill.

The correct pluralization is Miatung.
I, however, shall continue to use the more pleasant-sounding Latin pluralization Miatae.
Ok, I feel more inadequate now.

Am I the only one having fuel hose problems?
The hose coming out of the fuel rail ruptured THREE times already.
It makes a 90' turn (lazy radius) going into the remote AFPR from the fuel rail and I always use the best high pressure fuel hose and secure it in a plastic sheath.
I am going with steel braided hose and AN fittings.
What a nightmare.

<p></p><p> </p><p>I learned the other day that the plural of prius is priora. Toyota allowed the unwashed masses to vote and they chose "prii" but would also accept "priuses."</p><p>But I like Priora.</p><p>No relation: the Lada Priora</p><p><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/22/Lada_2170_Priora.jpg" style="height:450px; width:752px" /></p>
you bought ANOTHER car after the wrx?
cause you handed me a check
wuut?
you got a prius?

<p>I just bought a car on a loan with no intention of using the "saved money" as an investment in any particular thing.</p><p>Of course pretty much anything I put it toward will yield more than the 0.0% financing rate. </p><p> </p><p>Related:</p><p>Upped the librul game this weekend. Added hybrid and another garden bed. Anyone know a good concrete guy?</p><p><img alt="" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rk25Y94fJjQ/VWMWVc-ov9I/AAAAAAAA17Y/8bO1GIdAn6M/w1045-h588-no/IMG_20150525_083212801.jpg" style="height:588px; width:1045px" /></p><p> </p><p> </p>
you got a prius?
I **** you not, i've had FIVE requests today to fix things/do a compare between systems, without a ******* ID number provided to me.
Come on, this is day 1 ****. And don't get sassy with me when i politely ask for an ID number and reply with "You have the claim number provided in the audit." AND STILL DON'T GIVE ME A ******* ID NUMBER?
**** YOU.
That claim number could have been present on any number of TWENTY SIX DIFFERENT ******* PLANS. I'm not cycling through all of those just to hope i end up with the right ******* ID. I'm a claims processor, not a ******* detective.
JUST TYPE THE 8 ******* DIGITS. NOT THAT HARD.

Considering the prius is designed for aerodynamics they are pretty limited with how they can change the styling without affecting the drag coefficient. If you see a gen 1 prius next to a current prius there are clear improvements in aesthetics. But they both remain ugly....BECAUSEPRIUS
they are selling like hotcakes, and for a good reason. and really, ryan is right on point: function>form is actually a very legit thing with prius.
we loved ours, and even more love our current good looking, hopped up prius with baller interior (Lex CT200h F-sport)
This will blow your mind, but: it handles amazing. Like not "for a prius" amazing, but "I bet it can take that offramp faster than my turbo awd subaru with baller suspension and wheels" amazing.
mind= blown
prius was more efficient and practical in every single way though.

Anyway, yes when the dealerships asked when we'd come in for a test drive and to check it out, i said "It's a refrigerator.. we don't really need to test drive..."
But to counter your dickness, there is a next gen prius in the works that auto press has been rumormilling to be a much more aesthetically something vehicle.
I personally think this piece of concept art is interesting:
