Well, I'm going to have to build myself a new computer for Crysis 2. I'm not sure mine is up to the task. It would handle Crysis OK at maxed out setting and resolution, but not more than 25-30fps usually. Crysis 2 looks damn good. I had almost forgotten all about it actually.

If you haven't paid much attention to your DNS, do. I just ran Google NameBench and found out my primary DNS, which is google 8.8.4.4 was actually 20% slower than my local Charter DNS. Much snappier page loads. Good stuff.

Wow, thanks, apparently Google Public DNS-2 is 51.6% Faster, hoping I can notice a huge difference.

EDIT: NEWB question, now that I have this knowledge what do I do to make use of it...how do I change this ****?

Put numbers in box under step 3. Obviously you'll need to select whichever ethernet adapter is currently being used for internet access on your system in Step 1.

Ok. So I just did this namebench test and according to the results it says that by switching to OpenDNS it would be 102.7% faster.

Is there anything that should keep me from switching?

While we're on the subject of computer talk, what would be the cause of a computer losing the connection to the internet over and over again? The computer is a MAC, and is hooked up wireless to a AT&T 2wire router. We lose the connection time after time and its starting to really **** me off. Its especially aggravating when your shopping online and you submit you cc info only to have it say that it lost its connection. Then 2-3 mins later its back. WTF!

MAC = your problem. Thanks Joe, seems to be better, not much though.

Not having diagnosed the problem.

A quick Google search on ATT 2Wire produced a fair amount of discussion on the device, much of it in the form of "This device sucks and I would like to hurl it out of a very high window" or similar.

What is the nature of your loss of connectivity? Does the PC report that the connection to the router has been lost, or do you simply stop getting data throughput? Have you tried connecting to the device with a cable rather than via WiFi?

No reason to not switch.

It's gotta be the router. I had issues like that with my old WalMart special Belkin router that cost me all of $20 like 6 years ago, I finally upgraded to a good Cisco/Linksys Linksys WRT54GL wired/wireless router and have had no issues since. I was actually blaming my issues on Charter for all of those years, when it was more in fact my cheap router. Plus this new router has many more options and security, not to mention good range on wireless with the double antenna.

My wife's 1994 Infiniti G20 dumped what looks like the entire crankcase of oil on the floor of our carport when we pulled in last night. Went and got some kitty litter this morning, but haven't had time to find where it all the oil came from. The drain plug is still there, and there aren't any obvious cracks or holes in the oil pan (and we didn't hit anything or drop off any curbs or anything like that).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are no holes in the block...the engine ran fine and smooth right up until we pulled in the driveway. What else would dump a few quarts of oil on the driveway?

So, like a good little nerd I happened to be watching a trailer for the new Tron movie, and something caught my eye. In the background, while the character who I will ignorantly refer to as Son of Sark is shouting orders that someone or another is to be killed, was this:

Are that who I think it are?

Nope, it's tight and intact, no noticeable leakage around the edge either.

Searching the G20 forums right now (holy ****, am I thankful for mt.net...what a bunch of useless crap on that forum), looks like the P10 G20's were very sensitive to oil starvation...any blockage at all generally had catastrophic results. The fix generally involves ordering a $350 JDM SR20DE and swapping it yourself.

It's hard to keep up with all the "movements" in today's "car culture" but this one caught my attention:

A chrome and rainbow sticker on the windshield of a dude-laden Miata? WTF?
