Not my parents, but my immediate family.

That's kind of my thinking. If they blow this out of proportion and decide they need to treat me differently now, just because they now know I am not a man of faith, then whatever, their loss. Though I don't think they will disown me or anything like that, but I will have to deal with this whole ******* pity thing, like they feel sorry for me. My poor, misguided soul, and it's their job to save me. I swear, the first ******* time one of them says they will pray for me, I'm gonna lose my ****.

And by doing so, you will prove them right. Just treat it as you would the nephew with the birth defect. Pretend not to notice.

I'd pitty them for having to believe in a figment of their imagination in order to better themselvs

Seriously though, I'm glad I'm not from a religious family, but living in the south puts me in front of a lot of this stuff. I just hate when random people come up to me and try preaching their point of view and that everyone else is wrong. People like that are truely ignorant of their own religion. The whole "spreading the word of Christ" has really been miscontrued to mean something completely different these days....more of "only believe in my **** or **** off".

Now Scentologists and Mormons....those are completely different stories, they're bat-**** crazy in my eyes.

This is exactly how I feel! I hate it when others try to push their own religion onto me or others around me. it really irritates the **** out of me. But I try to have fun with it.

Whenever they start with the pity stuff, just smile, laugh and shake your head at what they said. Anger will only reaffirm there believes in there minds. I'd probably go with some light sarcasm too, but thats me.
I think Viperormiata said something which lead me to believe he's in the same boat, maybe he'll chime in.

Pretty much spot on. Another thing that is bothering me is what I've been reading about religion in the military. I will NOT bow my head for prayer, I will NOT support any religious affiliation due to pressure from a higher up and I will NOT soften anything I have to say when asked by some one if I believe in the sky dictator.

This is pretty much how it is when I talk to my family. I am the only person who doesn't believe in the man made book that copied the nearly 17 other religions in that 600 year time period that all had a savior born of a virgin, crucified and then zombied his way out of a cave to three prostitutes before acquiring the power of flight.

These stupid status things from Facebook. IDK but this one is creepy...

ONE DAY A DAD COMES HOME DRUNK AND MAD HE PULLS OUT A GUN AND SHOOTS HIS WIFE AND TURNS THE GUN TO HIMSELF HIS LITTLE GIRL SITS BEHIND A COUCH CRYING. THE POLICE CAME AND TOOK THE LITTLE GIRL TO A NEW FAMILY HER FIRST SUNDAY SCHOOL, SHE WALKS PAST THE BUILDING AN SEES A PICTURE OF JESUS ON THE CROSS. .. . THE LITTLE GIRL ASKS THE TEACHER' HOW DID THAT MAN GET OFF THE CROSS'? THE TEACHER REPLIE...D: 'HE NEVER DID'. THE LITTLE GIRL ARGUED: 'YES HE DID. THE NIGHT MOMMY AND DADDY DIED, HE SAT NEXT TO ME BEHIND THE COUCH, TELLING ME EVERYTHINGWAS GONNA BE ALRIGHT. 66% OF YOU WON'T POST THIS. BUT REMEMBER WHATTHE BIBLE SAYS: "DENY ME IN FRONT OF YOUR FRIENDS AND I'LL DENY YOU IN FRONT OF MY FATHER

Will you go to divine worship in boot camp/basic training? I'll go just b/c the alternative is "chilling" with the DI's.
Also, if God is so powerful, how come it took Jesus three days to respawn?

I will in no way involve myself in anything related to religion or religious practices.

It was 3 days because that is what the religions before Jesus did. Why should they take effort to make their own **** up?

So you don't eat Chic-Fil-A?

Heard a sermon from a creaky pul pit with no one in the nave
I paid a visit to the synagogue and I left there feeling blame
No one could tell me what to do, they had not the capacity to answer me

What the world needs now is some answers to our problems
We can't buy more time 'cause our tender isn't valid
If your soul needs love you can get consoled by pity
But it looks as though faith alone won't sustain us no more

Watched the scientists throw up their hands conceding, "progress will resolve it all"
Saw the manufacturers of earth's debris ignore another green peace call
No one could tell me what to do, no one had the ability to answer me

What the world needs now is some accountability
We can't buy more time 'cause time won't accept our money
If your soul needs love you can always have my pity
But it looks as though faith alone won't sustain us no more...

What the world needs now is some answers to our problems
We can't buy more time 'cause our tender isn't valid
What the world needs now is some accountability
If your soul needs love you can get consoled by pity
But faith alone won't sustain us anymore
faith alone won't sustain us anymore [to fade]
