Huh. Was no aware that they called it that.

Wouldn't Francisco Scaramanga island be more appropriate?
it has a local name I'm sure but the locals call it James Bond Island because tourists bring money to buy overpriced shlocky junk.

I might go look at this 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 next week. Autocheck comes out clean on it. If it checks out mechanically do you guys see any reason it could not tow a miata? I will probably be using uhaul trailers for the next year.

Also what is a general price for getting an open trailer that can tow a miata? I honestly have not looked into those prices yet. So any estimate would be nice to know.

Good truck, it will have no problem towing a miata. Be sure to check the bushings, if they're original they won't last much longer. If you hear any squeaking thats a sign the bushings are on their way out.

How much does it cost to have bushings replaced? In all honesty I will probably be having a local shop do most of the work on the truck if I get it.

It wasn't cheep, I'd say $300ish and that was for either the bushings and tie rod on one side, or the front bushings and one tie rod. I think it was for the bushings & tie rod on just one side though (front drivers side).

Get poly bushings for sure.

Lug nuts are added unsprung weight. I highly suggest removing them as they are 100% not needed.

Well I just typed up $150k worth of proposals and emailed them out. I never dealt with this side of the business before and I had no idea how stressful it was.

At least when I'm outside whacking up forms I dont have to use my brain. lol
