How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways
I actually am sitting here now, I took those pics. Waiting for the owner to get home from work. No tow vehicle or money. Just going to say I will be back tommorow with whatever we decide on.
In those circumstances, I generally don't try to agree on a deal if I don't have cash in hand. Wait to negotiate until you can put money in her hand and have the titled signed over. If you talk her down today, she's got 24 hours to find a better offer.

I ran under my target lap time. The Texas tracks suffer from too many rich people who don't want you out there so everything is super-competitive all the time. I just don't really want to do it anymore.
Sounds like anything else that starts out fun, but the douches kill it.

Another variable is my fear of getting crushed by Emilio in Crusher at Hallett. I don't really know where I stand in terms of lap times and I really need the validation of running a 26 at that track or I'm not going to do this car thing anymore. .anymore . If I run that time, and Crusher goes under it,I'm going to be devastate. I usually do well aamong friends at the kart track, but I ******* need this at Hallett, bad.

If a professional who has a business dedicated to the sport beats you at the track and it crushes you while you are just a hobbyist, that's just taking things too seriously for a hobby bro.

I don't want to be that guy in the high hp Miata who should be back in a stock Miata, learning to drive. There is too much responsibility required to drive my car. It was a lot more fun when it made 86hp with Bilstein shocks.
More than anything, it sounds like you are burned out from the competition and just need a break from what you are doing right now. But that's just my , I could be completely full of crap.
You are taking things way the **** too seriously if you are serious about this Hustler. Take a step back dude. It's effing Chump Car - you are taking it far, far too seriously.

Why do you care? If it isn't enjoyable, don't do it.
Years ago, my father was on what he (and we) thought was his death bed. He told me then that I didn't have to follow in his footsteps (he was a mechanical designer) if I didn't want to. He told me to do something I liked doing, even if it meant less money. He told me to be sure to make myself happy, not just successful, and success was far less important than being satisfied with your life. I took that to heart. Dad recovered.
I say again: enjoy it or don't do it.
