this is why i avoid ebay... it scares the hell out of me yet my gf still tries to search for parts and what not and i always tell her to do local business where if you win an ebay auction ask them if you can pay cash and pick the item up... i figured if its legit who doesnt want cold hard cash right in their hands... gl with the formal complaints

Well ebay sent me two of their typical "we will take the necessary measures" emails. They said if I really want my money back for the sub par product I should file a dispute. I guess ill do it for the hell of it. They also said the feedback cannot be removed, it is permanent.

So I guess ill see what happens to the sellers account in a little while.

Sam this is why you can't bitch. It's like anything else, you assess the risk and then make a decision to do or die.

I still think eBay is a viable option for shopping BUT the buyer (and seller) need to be ultra savvy.

Then they stop using the account so the auctions they've received feedback on expire and you can't check how much the item was - it just shows up as positive.

Now here's where the criminals get stooopid. They grab copy and images from a completed auction, let's a camera, and then list it at an ultra low ($1k instead of $3k) buy-it-now price, and list MULTIPLE items when the description is for one. They always want payment via western union - the list goes on.
Anyone stupid enough to buy something off ebay, or the internet, or telephone with western union deserves to get ripped off. ******* morons.
