Default Sudden blurred vision

Work up this morning and somethings wrong with my left eye. I am going to the doctor, waiting for them to open. Its like my eye glass lense is smudged badly. I dont suppose anyone here knows anything about eyes?

I've had this happen a few times before after sleeping on my eye all night. For me it usually goes away within 24 hours. It's never really bad though and is livable. If you can go to the doctor, by all means do, it could be something else, but my vote goes to sleeping on it wrong, especially if it just started when you woke up and had no problems when you went to bed.

Thats what I am thinking more and more now, when I first got up it was really bad. Its just a little fuzzy now, about a half hour later. My eyes are really terrible to begin with. I literally cannot see the big E on the eye exam without my glasses.

I know I have dry eyes, it was recommended by an eye Doctor a few years ago that I use lubricating eye drops. I never really have so I sent the GF off to the store for some.

It is still a pretty scary thing to wake up to. I have horrible luck and pretty lousy medical history on both sides of my family, so I was thinking cancer or a tumor or something. Nice to know its probably nothing worse then sleeping on your arm all night.

That's also a symptom of a herpes infection (similar to the one that causes cold sores in your mouth), and can be serious. I had it in college, and nearly lost my eye because I delayed in getting it looked at. Have the doc make the call.

****, don't scare the guy. If it's clearing up a little after waking up, it will probably be gone by lunch time. Coming back from the lake a few weekends ago from south of Atlanta to Birmingham, I had my right eye start seeing double pretty badly, and had to make a lot of the drive with that eye closed. I'm thinking it was a long day of the sun beating on my usually nocturnal eyes, and water in my ears putting pressure on my eye. Freaked me out a bit, but was gone the next morning.

PS, does your eye hurt or feel soar at all when you look at any extreme angle (hard to one side or the other, or up or down)? Usually when I sleep on my face like that my eye is a bit soar when I look around. Not always though. Might help point you in that direction if so.

Is this Obama-Care? Getting medical advice from a Miata forum. Go to the doctor and get checked out. Your vision is nothing to screw with.

Another cause of sudden blurry vision is diabetes. Do you have it in the family? Are you a fat slob?

Had this happen once after sleeping on in-laws couch with my neck at a 90* angle to my body. Apparently diminished bloodflow can cause vision problems. Tried to help BIL move that morning, but ended up going to chiropractor. Between the intense headache, neck pain and almost complete lack of vision in the left eye I couldn't stand it.

A few hours, lots of water (drinking), some ice (on neck) and a good adjustment and I was better.

Thank you for posting your question on the ObamaCare forum....LOL

But isn't that usually both eyes? It was for me at least. And it didn't get better at all, just kept getting worse.

Mine didn't get better for almost two months after I left the hospital. 2 days in the ER and then a couple in the hospital.
