I'd be happy to send a PM to the person selling stuff for you since you're -- oh wait you can now.
I don't run the internet and I certainly do not have anyone "in tight" as you might hope to see on your favorite streaming pr0n site. I'm just doing my unpaid job of warning new users who disparage the forum rules.
And the rules are intended this way: if you don't respect us enough to take your time with us, we don't respect you enough to give up the goodies.

And there lies the problem.
This is a community where we come to shoot the breeze, discuss cars, and happen to have a classifieds section. It's not eBay. It's not Craigslist. People like you who are just here for shopping add NOTHING to the community, so why should we make it easy for you?

So you're telling me, that if you were in my shoes, you'd wait until you could come up with 15 insightful and thought provoking posts before you posted an IM for parts to rebuild your car? You're a better man than I. Sure eBay and CL have parts too. I'm looking there as well as other miata forums... but if I see a deal, no matter where it is, I have to make a move on it. Anybody that says they wouldn't is full of crap.
Well.... yeah. I would wait.
I did. On this site. On miata.net. And on Clubroadster.
Miata.net took some doing because they require 6 months membership and 200 posts, or you donate to the site. I still did it without complaining about it or spamming.
I support that method wholeheartedly. It's because i think McDonald's sucks.

Edit: Where the hell is the Quality Control Bot?

I'm amazed by your patience. I've been a contributing member for the other two websites you mentioned for a while now, so I had already met their requirements, legitimately.
I have been a member here for 3 years now, but hardly ever post due to the vibe here... and for the most part, you guys have proven that same vibe here today.
Either way, I'm done. I'll step off the soap box, and hide in the corner.

For what it's worth, it took me like... 2 years to reach the post count on miata.net because i think that site sucks entire herds of dick. The vibe sucks. It's like a bunch of creepy old grandpa kid touchers who sit in the corner and stroke their chrome things until they get their rocks off.

This post really did digress.... and again, I apologize for the duplicate post that set this whole thing off. But my post topic about the Cars and Coffee™ Austin event is still valid. The event has attracted national TV. And, some of our local area Miata clubs' members, Tejas Miata and BlueBonnet Miata, will be there. I just thought it would be of interest to the forum.

I'm not trying to buy... I have a 96' M edition Miata w/factory hardtop. I love the car. My car is currently a part of Bell Engineering's R&D for new product line turbo development. I joined the miataturbo.net group to learn and to share my experiences. I usually use the search function before I post anything stupid unless I think it might be of interest. Jestmaty, another Texas member, also has a car in Begi's R&D program. I'd like to PM him directly so I don't post stupid things that are better left to private conversation. We might choose to meet sometime... maybe at a Cars and Coffee event... so gay I know.
Wow...you guys really are a tough audience.

Just leery. Your original posts suggested that you had no interest in getting to know or getting along with the other forum members, and that you were really only here for "shopping".
If that is not the case, you'll find that it's actually quite a fun forum with much more real world information that the other big Miata sites.
You just have to get past the "initiation".
Where are you in Austin? I was born in Houston, and lived in Round Rock from 1980-2001.
