that's the point. on F1 engines, the entire top is open and plumbed into a large scoop behind the driver.....if that CF cover wasn't on the 1st picture it would have been obvious, but the damn thing looks like an oil pan.

So, you're saying that in 5 years time, GM should have an engine with greater than the expected 100hp difference between GT and LS9? Even though the General has stuck to the tried-n'-true pushrod, single-cam engine and has not resorted to "fancy" OHC heads?

I think within that 5 years time, Ford should've done some work on the GT motor. And I also think I'd prefer the General's motor since it's smaller and lighter-weight.

Seems like both companies are getting the job done, though, by going slightly different routes. And Dodge just does the same thing by substituting added displacement and variable valve timing for forced induction. Different strokes...

its F1, the cooler they make the thing look off the track the more money/fans they draw to the team maybe?
