According to my ride buddies, it appears I have a similar fitment, lol. I went with the shortest top-tube I could stand without hitting my thighs on the bars when climbing a local 12% hill. I guess I can't really go smaller.

How long of a stem? Setback post?

When I built my bike I just snagged the first raw/polished frame that showed up on clist, then made it fit with a 120 stem and setback post. I'm totally comfy, but most of my rides are only ~25 miles with 1 or 2 longer ~40 milers last summer.

I usually spend 50% or more of the time in the drops because when I pedal, I work. I've found that most fit riders who aren't sprinters, who spend time up front, keep their OEM headset crowns and don't go lower, even the pros. It's not like I have spacers under the thing, but the OEM crown is tall.

125mm stem (actual length from center to center), 15mm SB post (short femurs, long shins), and I tried a 52cm frame and there was way way way too much drop for me at that time. I lined-up my knee with the pedal spindle, moved it forward a touch for personal preference (spindle is probably centered with the knee), stem was selected so I can roll my torso forward with elbows at ~150*; I'm comfortable in the saddle 5-hours at a time with the stem as low as it goes with factory parts. I can move my butt forward and back comfortably.

I really feel like I should be able to go lower as a man and should order an after-market cap to cut 15mm off the stem height by removing the crown, ultimately to get me out of the wind. The problem is that when I go lower, I get saddle issues where I'm basically sitting on my nut-bag and I'm rolling into the base of my *******. I like to be able to sit in the drops and enjoy the day.

Right now I rarely use the drops.

My bike has along top tube and for me the tops I am what feels like pretty low.

The handlebars I have are ergo drop though and are ergo where I wouldnt place my hand, so that could be it too. I will change that up at some point.

If I were to tell you that, it would stoke the flames of Emilio's vendetta against me based on his perception that I harbor some kind of opprobrium against expensive bikes and the people who buy them and am for some reason out to prove that anything more expensive than a $150 Schwinn from K-Mart is unjustified, when in fact I simply hold with the idea that it's less about the bike and more about what you do with it.

Me no spend big money on bicycle. Emilio think cheap bicycle bad. Me think all bicycle good if rider good. Me ride cheap bike everywhere.
