Default In need of motivation...

Hey guys , I have An issue....it seems a while back I started to lose motivation in my job(bad thing) its effecting my performance and I have these feelings of "******* job to hell with this" more than a few times daily...working at a computer all day is not a career I want but the job pays almost 12 dollers an hour, it pays the bills, good benifits, great health insurrance and such.....Alot of good qualitys the job has.....why is it so hard to get motivation back when you lose it....it sucks really bad and it's showing in my numbers....Hell this year Im going to be 21 and I've only been at this job since september of 05'........Im still motivated to get my project car done, I can do it because my job offers nice incentive bonusus for performance thats my ticket to get everything moving faster for my project...But I cant find motivation.....Ahhhhhh ITS driving me loco wtf can I do!

If you arent happy at your job, its not for you. Its as simple as that. Poor motivation = poor work quality = poor self esteem... by continuing to work their, you are actually hurting yourself.

That job is not the only job that offers nice incentives. There are bigger and better things out there, you just have to take time and search

I've been in the same position for 12 years. Started out as my dream job and ended up being a place to earn a pay check. I get personal satisfaction out of doing good work, but I don't let it define me. My outside interests and my family are way more important and I rarely think of work when I'm not there.

My advice is this, don't stay in a job you hate. But realize no matter what job you have your enthusiasm will wax and wane. If it is a good job, well paying, decent bennifits ... etc it is probably worth it to stick it out. Look for something with growth and stability. While $12/hr sounds kick *** now, you'll find like HP you'll be wanting more and more

Just be glad your dick ain't broke!

the car should not be your first priority. I finally, for the first time in my life, make enough money, and live frugally enough to play with a car.

At the end of this month, I will be out of debt from the turbo vw build-up 5 years ago...where the debt all started. I added other **** to the debt, but that's where the disaster of cc debt started. Its almost gone. I've been sending $3k per month on my credit cards for a year now...so the miata is about to get stupid.

That's what i'm screaming. No job is going to be "ALL Kick ***, ALL the time!"

I'm a network engineer. I work on computer systems and design and install computer networks. I've been doing it for almost two years now. When the work is busy and things are going smoothly, the job is great. When I've been banging my head against a wall for a month trying to figure out a stupid problem, and having to put up with the customer and my boss............notsomuch.

If you don't like your current job, are there other internal opportunities available?
Mentor programs, or advanced training for promotion?
One of your managers responsibilities should be to help guide you in your career development/path...

Hustler,

@ 3K/mo You would have paid off my trailer by now...

Christ... do you live with your parents or just get paid stupid amounts of money? I'm salaried at over $60K and I won't have that much left over each month after rent/power/gas/gasoline bills and taxes.
