i had/have a dyno session scheduled for Saturday morning. Well, I sent a PM to the dyno operator on a local forum that we all frequent to confirm the appointment made weeks ago. He says that he never got my information and that he gave my timeslot to someone else. I'm pissed, because this is the last weekend before i leave to go on a 700 mile trip. BROTHA NEEDS GAS MILEAGE. I showed him a PM that I sent him right after our initial conversation that had ALL my info in it, and he's claiming he never got it, blah, blah, blah. He's going to try to reschedule the other appointment though, so it's all good if he can. If he can't though, I'm fucked.
Having to stop every 170 miles for gas is not something I or my travel companions are going to look forward to.

Went through a rash of email low ball offers on parts. Took some, counter offered some, and some I just told to **** off. Boxed some other sold parts up and put shipping labels on them.

I spent my day after work installing the replacement crankshaft and bearings. Got as far as checking all the oil clearances and torquing the crank bolts down. Then I got as much of the old gasket material off with brake cleaner and an sos pad so that the pan will seal nicely when the time comes. Then I got me a pint of whiskey and im sipping it slowly before hitting the sack

Traveled 15 hours via 4 different planes from Nashville to Fairbanks Alaska, I arrived at 2 am. I then slept till 8 and went off to the union halls, got signed up with the Teamsters union and got reinstated on the out-of-work list with the Operators. Bought some nice new work boots then drove 4 hours to get back to the little town I call home. Nothing has changed and the only thing I look forward to is starting work. Sooner I start, the sooner I get paid. Sooner I get paid, sooner I forget i have 4 months of work and realize I have 4 months of getting paid ahead of me. Which means 4 months of getting paid will allow me to go back to college in the fall which means I'll be back with the girlfriend, the car, and some darkness.
I'm now in the interior of Alaska, it is 10:15 and is no where near being dark, not even what I would consider dusk. I need the Miata here to keep me busy. Instead all i have is my Opel GT and a '91 Wrangler with a brokeass windshield.
So holy ****, i'm getting pounded all of a sudden with jetlag and I'm using dialup internet. Definitely feels like home, wouldn't have it any other way.
Think i would prefer Ben's evening though.

I tightened down my turbo again, then strapped it to the manifold with a steel band. Changed the oil and filter, adjusted the air pressure. Cleaned out EVERYTHING, pulled out the spare and tools and checked for ANYTHING out of place. I have my first big autocross tommorow!! I'm SO excited.

Dear God...
This being a Saturday we wheeled the bar out of the garage at 10:30am and commenced making Bloody Marys. At around noon a neighbor we'd never met before brought over a bottle of Galliano, and that began several waves of Harvey Wallbangers. We finally ran out of Vodka about an hour later, at which point the margaritas began. This drew a crowd, and persisted until around 6pm. At this point we realized that none of us had eaten all day, so we called for pizza and then began making martinis while we waited. The pizza was split four ways, as was the 18 pack of beer I brought out to wash it down.
My liver hurts.
