In Flames - I always seem to miss their shows when they're playing remotely close to me. Last show was Dec 2. they were touring with 36 Crazyfists another favorite band.

Nirvana
White Zombie - saw Rob at Ozzfest one year but it's not the same, at all.
NIN - still around but I wish I'd seen them when they were good.

+1 on Nirvana
+1 on Queen
Additions to the list:
- Stevie Ray Vaughn. Blew him off twice to study for school. Heard afterwards both shows were great. No chance now.
- Led Zeppelin. Timeless, but broke up before my time.
- The Sex Pistols. The show they put on here was infamous, and was even talked about in one of their documentaries. I was way too young though. The hype in the media was over the top. You would have thought Satan Claus was coming to town to rape nuns; It seems so stupid in retrospect.
- Sepultura. Also missed them to study. Heard they raged, played even faster than the album.
- Rage Against the Machine. I love that pound in your head rythm, and the pit would be intense. Though that huge pit I was in at that one Slayer concert had about 200 people in it...
- Metallica at a headliner, before they got really big, and started sucking. I did see them warm up Ozzy on the Master of Puppets Tour.
- Radiohead on the OK Computer tour.

There have been so many great shows that I have seen that I try not to worry too much about the ones I missed. After all I have seen Gwar three times. That makes up for a lot I was also fortunate to see some good shows in small general admission venues before the bands got famous, like Green Day, Voivod, and Anthrax.

I also just got back from the Symphony. They played Shostakovich's 10th Symphony and nailed it. Fantastic.

For bands/ acts that I would have been old enough to see, I wish I had been able to see Stevie Ray Vaughan, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, and The Grateful Dead. I guess seeing old school Metallica and GNR would've been a sight as well.

Acts I have seen that I really enjoyed were Foo Fighters, RHCP, Live, Stone Temple Pilots, Buddy Guy, and the Beastie Boys.

I feel ya.

They played in New Orleans on Friday night. I was there.

They put on a great show, even if they did introduce themselves as the Eagles Assisted Living Tour. lol.

Joe Walsh still has it.

I've seen Metallica twice now, they still put on an amazing show, they know their fans want to hear the 80's stuff so they play mostly that.

Nirvana, most overrated band in history.

Zeppelin's and Queen are probably the two I'd like to have seen in their prime. I did see the Firm with Paige and Paul Rodgers but it ain't the same.

I got to see Metallica way back in the Monsters of Rock tour in '88 which also featured Van Halen and the Scorpions.

The Producers. I was in Myrtle Beach in '86 and they were playing at the Magic Attic. We were going to go to the show and my friend jumped into a dumpster (I'm quite certain that alcohol was involved <G>) and cut his foot open on a broken bottle. We never got to the show because of that and I have always regretted it. Definitely one of the best 80's pop bands. Never did hit the big time for some reason...

Oh, around that same time ('85 I believe) I had a chance to see Journey at their finest for the Frontiers tour. Screwed up and missed that one too.

Wish I'd seen:
Radiohead (passed on a free ticket a few months ago)
Heart
Uncle Tupelo
Orbit
Urban Dance Squad

I've been lucky to catch some of the farewell/reunion/we're old and need money/I'm about to be gone/We don't quite suck yet/Nobody's heard of us yet tours, though, so it ain't all bad.

Nirvana was an incredible album...
... but yeah, they were extremely overrated.

I have a friend who saw them in Seattle before they broke out. He said shotgun boy was a complete weirdo. I'm not sure what makes you think you either have to act weird or not hide your true weirdness on stage in order to make it.

I guess if your experience with Nirvana begins and ends with "Smells like Teen Spirit", you would consider them overrated. Give a good listen to "Bleach".
