Default It's hard to take good pictures of carbon fiber

so here are some shitty ones. I'm going to borrow an SLR and a human who knows how to use it later this week, but figured I'd share these now.

Sold my OEM top Wednesday for $1200, picked this up for $1300 on Thursday evening. C-West wet carbon top, 40lbs with OEM glass and seals. Fits pretty much like the OEM top did, keeps water out (tested that thoroughly this weekend). The rear latches are a little gross, still trying to figure out what I'm going to do about them.

Gives it a much more brash look than the car used to have, less sleeper more racecar. I was going to do a vented FRP hood and paint it black, but I think I'm going to stick with raw carbon and mabye do a trunk as well later on.

Whats the official weight on an OEM hardtop? I wouldn't rock a CF hardtop unless it met 2 criteria
1. It's appreciably lighter than OEM
2. It's painted

I like it. You couldn't pull it off with any color other than black.

turn off autofocus or focus on something that's not shiny but is at the same distance first (half button press) and with the button held half way, THEN take a pic of the car. the AF is picking up the reflection, not the top.

What are you going to do about the frankenstein bolts?

I'm planning on removing mine and sticking some longer bolts in with a fat washer and painting the head and washer black. One of many projects I haven't gotten around to.

40lbs is what I was told, at least. Next time it's sunny and I have it off I'll throw it on a bathroom scale and see what it really weighs.

As far as color, IMO painting a $2000 carbon fiber top is heresy.

Honestly, a top on any color car I'd keep it carbon. Black tops go very well on ANY color... just look at soft tops! On a lot of cars I like the carbon hood, top, and trunk lid.. I'd do it myself, but thats like 15 times the cost of my car....
