I've been at the SCCA Runoffs all week qualifying for the SSB race. I'm qualified in 6th place which is a little disappointing but only two spots behind my teamate, who is the 2008 Runoffs champ in SSB, and has been on the podium multiple times.

We're driving 2006 Civic Si coupes. SSB is a Showroom Stock class and the cars really are basically stock. We're allowed a drop in K&N Filter, cat-back exhaust and the HFP (Honda Factory Performance) suspension kit which is just barely stiffer/lower than stock. We run BFG R1 tires and Cobalt brake pads. We even have to run the full interior. Anyway, the lap times in our class are usually equal to SM times, however at Road America we are a couple seconds faster than SM. Most of the other cars in the class are V6 mustangs. There are a few BMWs also.

Anyway, the race is at 11:30 CST tomorrow (Sat. 9/24) and it will be broadcast live on www.speedcasttv.com

If you've got nothing to do tomorrow before lunch check it out, the SSB race usually ends up being a pretty good, close race.
