I'm doing my homework on possibly getting an vehicle broker/dealer license... maybe as a small side business or for personal stuff. Anybody have any experience or insight. Pro's Con's?

You need commercially zoned outdoor parking or a designated warehouse space in California. There are several requirements like that, I can't recall them all off the top of my head.

Not to mention, every single person that you ever met is your "friend" and expects you to buy stuff for them and sell it to them for your cost. Gotta help a "buddy" out, you know...not worth the grief.

After some research today, it looks like a lot of effort. There are about 20 forms and documents you need to send in, pictures of your "office", proof of zoning... **** ton of stuff that it seems is purposely designed to keep people like me from going through with it.
Still doing homework, not completely turned off.

The biggest hurdle is a location with signs and it either has to be a warehouse or have 2 (or 3, don't remember) parking spots designated specifically to it. And a 1 day class.
Really not hard if you have a location, I had everything in line to do it a couple years ago but could not find an affordable location.

I was going to apply about 25 years ago in WV. IIRC, At that time all you needed to do is fill out a one page document and sell 10 cars per year. It is amazing how much things change. I seem to remember that the only way you could get the NADA book was if you had your dealers license. Now you just log on and look at it for free...
