German car nuts are the most annoying car owners
First off, I don't like German cars. At all. Here's my rant from another forum:
And yet, every time I post this, some ******* German car fanboi comes in and says "It must be because you don't service them, dumbass". Astute observation, cap'n dipshit, because these cars CAN'T go wrong if you service them 
. Really? The door falling apart is from a lack of service? The heater core cracking and regulator motor dying is from a lack of service? A new ******* transmission and wiring harness is from a lack of service?
God damn, ******' imbeciles.
And for the record: The people who own these cars (Mother, father, sister) service them religiously. They go in at every beep, squeak and ding. Every service interval and then some.
Sure, they feels more solid than a Chevy Malibpoo, or a Pontiac Gland Pee, or even a Ford Exploder, but in every other aspect, they're crap. And yet their owners still think they're TeH BNesT inteh WORLDS!!!!1!
In the past week, this is what's happened to my A6 2.7t.
1. The inside of the drivers side door is fucked. The locks don't work, the keyhold doesn't work, and I can't even manually push down the lock. The first day this happened I had to crawl in through the trunk.
2. The car got stuck at WOT. Out of the blue, I floored it to merge, didn't come back up. I was on the hard shoulder, and it scared the **** out of me.
3. The passanger side door fucked itself aswell. I opened it this morning, and it wouldn't close. Not one bit, it would go all the way in and even turn off the interior light, but it wouldn't latch. I had to drive in with the door held closed with bungee cords.
4. The washer bottle exploded. The car now beeps at me EVERY ******* 3 MILES. And it's not just a suttle ding, it's like a ******* smoke detector going off in the car.
5. TCS/ABS arbitrarily stopped working. No warning at all, it just stopped. I didn't notice for a while since I drive with the TCS off anyways, but when I tried to turn it on it wouldn't. Restarting the car resulted in it being on for a couple of miles, but then turning off again.
6. The manifold blew a hole. Sounds funny now. If I'm honest though, this happened a while ago.
7. The brake lights are stuck on. Even now, with the car off and the lights off, the lights are still on, draining the battery as we speak.
And over the past month, it's developed some horrible vibration, it's gas mileage dropped from around 22 to 19mpg, part of the fender just fell off, and it started rattling somewhere.
It's the same deal with my mom's car (TT 3.2 quattro (though not really a quattro system 'cause the TT wasn't worthy, since it's gay, slow, heavy, ugly, and automatic)). It's at 45k miles, and it just got a new transmission and whole ******* wiring harness. Luckily this one is still under warentee. ******* horrible car.
My sister's E-class (98 W210 E430) just needed 6,xxx dollars worth of service in the last year alone. Mind you, it's at 161k miles. **** like the heater core, the diff exploding, the belt tensioners, the window regulators, the blah blah blah... ****, these cars just fall apart. German quality my ******* ***. And they're all dull to drive, every single one of them.
Oh, and if you're wondering, the A6 that had all those problems in ONE ******* WEEK only has 80-some thousand miles on it.

I'm living in Germany right now and Bimmers are everywhere and CHEAP. I vowed I would never own one, but guess what...when I got here I picked up a '90 525I with 350K+ KM's on it and haven't done **** to it but beat the hell out of it and change the oil since I got it. I regularly drive the think at 200KPH on the autobahn and it's the most stable car I've ever been in, rock solid doesn't feel like you're doing ~125mph in the least.
I'll never try to build a BMW for track duty but as a daily driver this thing is a beast, I love to say I hate the damn thing but to be honest I couldn't tell you of a single problem I really have with it.
Cheap-o bottom line Audis are not a good representative of German engineering, PERIOD.

My little brother is a big VW guy and I get a good laugh at least once a month when something breaks and it costs 10X what it would cost me to fix it.
They also worship raceland products ($200 coilovers) then wonder why they can't take corners like they used to.

I'm a german car owner (07 VW GTI with 21k) and I'm only bitching because of a denied warranty claim.
Since we've owned the car (purchased in Feb 2010):
headlight switch cracked and stopped functioning (replaced under warranty)
lumbar adjustment **** broke and would no longer stay on seat (replaced under warranty)
underhood insulation too small and fell on engine (replaced under warranty)
water pump failed (replaced under warranty)
AC compressor locked up and burned up serpentine belt (replaced under warranty)
rear cargo cover mismade and would not stay in place (replaced under warranty)
and now, passenger side motor mount bolt broken and warranty claim is denied due to aftermarket suspension
So yeah, I'm one of those bitchin' about German cars. Hell, we've only had to change the oil on it twice since we've owned it.

I just bought a '00 VW Golf 2.0L 5 spd base model with crank windows and manual mirrors. It will get great gas mileage and be reliable as hell. It has a german VIN too so no Mexican BS for me.
It's been a top notch car thus far, glad to have it as a daily.
I would own a B5 Audi A4 1.8T anyday. Or a '09+ VW GTI with the TSI engine, they're bullet proof and I love them.

E30's are the only german cars I would feel comfortable with using as a daily driver. My buddy Josh has beat the ever living **** out of his 2 E30's (Both 400+whp on stock motors) and are both running strong. Everything in the enterior still works too(lights, electric windows,etc..).
However, my other friends(fag1 and fag2) are both in love with their 1.8t gti's. Sure, they are both fast and handle decent....but that is about it.
Fag1's car just decided to have it's sunroof motor fail. It decided that it would close all the way and then open back up 2 minutes later and let the rain play with his new alcantara suede interior. That is just the most recent of his blunders. There are plenty more that. Don't get me started on the air injection pump systems
what a waste of time.
Fag2's car is just a big black bucket of poop. It likes to stop running right in the middle of the road and not start back up. It also likes to make the dash lights flicker and the stereo now work at all. Driving at night with no lights FTW! Also I got a nice phone call today from Fag2, he was crying to me that his car is now sputtering and shaking horribly. What to do? I have no idea, it's a ******* VW!
Sure the miata is not as sexy looking or has the image around it as being a superior car. But atleast my **** runs every day and had zero problems

My dad had an 85 diesel non turbo jetta, and that damn thing was dead nuts reliable. It had 350k and was still ticking when we sold it for 750 dollars. I had an E30 for a while, my brother nuked the engine by shifting to second at 80. But before that, it was fantastic. One of my freinds had a TT, complete **** bucket. Mercedes owners are dicks, and think your car is a piece of **** for not being german, or a mercedes, so they can go **** themselves.
