Default kids hit my car with a pumpkin

so yesterday night I went to take my bike out, but the battery was dead. I went to my friends house and borrowed his jump starter. On my way home(driving slowly because it is residential) a pumpkin rolls into the side of my car. This happened a street where there is a big hill and at the bottom there is a guys driveway. Kids always roll pumpkins down this big hill and try to do damage to the peoples garage door at the bottom of the hill. Anyways, me being in the wrong place at the wrong time get hit by a pumpkin. I was in my 92 turbo miata and the kids were in a either 05 or 06 nissan altima. After a high speed pursuit the kids made a mistake and turned down a road that was blocked off b/c of construction. I blocked off the road behind them(not too easy in a car the size of miata) until the cops got there. I dont' understand people who get a kick out of damaging other people's property. I'm sure anyone who has ever had their stuff vandalized knows what I mean. The thing I kept thinking about was what if my bike had started and instead of my car getting hit I had wrecked my bike. I was just going to ride around in that same neighborhood helping my bud learn how to a bike that he just got. I think the kids parents ended up coming and getting them, so they didn't get taken in. My car wasn't damaged(that I could see in the dark last night anyways). The garage door had some big dents in it. Getting a kick out of damaging other peoples property is just lame. Before someone thinks about doing something like that they should think about how it would make them feel if someone did it to them.

Break some pumpkins on their heads. See if you can make one stick -
Then the kid could be a JACK-***-O-LANTERN! :gay:

i had a similar instance. some kids were going to vandalize my home on devil's night and i just happened to be near the front door inside. the windows were opened and i heard them coming. i grabbed the baseball bat in the front closet and opened the door. one of the kids was on the porch and i grabbed him and threw him to the ground. the others ran off. he had a can of spray paint.

i called the police and held him until they came. i threatened to press charges unless he gave up his buddies. he did. he was 14.

the next day, 4 neighborhood kids were arrested and their parents were forced to pay for damages they did to three other homes and two cars.

this year, i am going to borrow some surveilance equipment from a PI friend of mine. technology is a beautiful thing.

throw YOUR pumpkin at them. You know, the one that's between the rear axles.

Yea. my mudd flap(i guess that is what it is) on the drivers side is a bit loose now. Haven't looked closely at it but I think a plastic clip might've broke or something. I've been looking at pics of miatas and notice not many cars have the mudd flaps like my car does. Have people just removed them or were they an option from the dealer? I haven't decided if I am going to keep them or take them off. What do you guys think
See pics

those are dealer option, short mudflaps that are now discontinued in the USA superceded by the longer ones.

i had kind of the same experience. when i came out of the mall once i saw a kid standing on the tail pipe of my jackson racing exhaust,i ran up to him and held him down while my friend called the police. when the police came he tried to say i beat him up (he was 13) but luckily security had it on camera. his parents bought me my new RSR exhaust haha.

Yea, it took the cops forever to get there(understandable...it wasn't an emergency I didn't expect lights and sirens). I thought about trying to work a deal with them. The kids obviously had parents who were pretty loaded and I could definately use some extra cash, but I guess I had some faith in the PD that they would handle the situation properly

FAIL. Never let them handle it if you can do it better yourself and within the law. Cops, much like anyone else in the real world are only looking out for number one. What you do in that kind of situation (this is what i did) is tell them you are pressing charges because they can be dropped any time. Then go talk to the little ***** parents, that kinda lets them know that they are gonna pay one way or the other, and as pissed as they will be, they will still pay up rather than see precious billy get a record.
