#27 is out for the ******* count.

There's another half a dozen of them running around, but unfortunately I have to go to the shop so I cant stay and play.

Leave a few and just thin the herd seasonally.

My goal is to have total domination by the first snow fall.

The HVAC guy is coming tomorrow to start replacing the ducts and air handler and the last thing I want is for the ******* to get into the new system.

I just got me #28, again, on the fire pit. This time when I hit him he just did a body roll off the rock. lol

I also decided to take the day off from the shop to work from home and play video games. So hopefully I can bag a few more before the day is over.

Awesome thread.

I just got a Benjamin/Sheridan .22 Classic air rifle last night. In Canada this one is de-tuned to 495fps so you don't need an FAC to buy it. Makes my Beeman look like a kindergarten toy gun.

It packs a friggin punch though, holy ****. At 15 yards it goes through a light door and into the drywall (whoops) I taped some pennies to the door, hit one spot on and it blew the penny right through the door. I can only imagine what it would do to a little critters head. It's rated for squirrels and crows and possibly a rabbit if you are a good shot.

Nice rifle. I'll have to put something up to see exactly how powerful this thing is. All I've been shooting at lately are these little bastards. lol

Matter a fact, since this morning I managed to get another one. I call him # motherfucking 29.

I'd be willing to bet there's easily enough left to hit the 50 kill mark.

You should BBQ them or trap and release.

This thread needs more Walther P22 with a suppressor! Seems like you are doing decent though. We used to have this same problem around my parent's house growing up. Luckily we were in the country so I could shoot un-suppressed rifles at them. Hitting one of those things with a 7.62X39 is very interesting just so you guys know....

My brother told me yesterday that I should just get my hands on a machine gun and shoot up the entire wooded area surrounding the house. lol

I just got #30 this morning. Unfortunately for him it wasn't a 1 shot deal. He scurried away under the oil tank shed and was trying to escape his fate. I put the rifle under the tank right up to his head and that was that.

Activity was slowed down, but this morning I saw at least another half dozen of them running around. I've also noticed a increase in squirrels. Before I would see one or two here and there playing around chasing each other, but now I see them all over the place. Its almost like they're moving in on the chipmunk's stash.

The HVAC guys finished up yesterday, so now my goal is to try and keep them from ******* up the system again.

I read the thread and it's pretty awesome. Don't enjoy pictures of dead critters but I like your methodical approach.

About 2.5 years ago I immigrated from Canada to live with my parents in MD. I brought over my cat. Since then I moved to VA but the cat remained with my parents and annihilated the chipmunk population in their neighborhood. Seriously, on some days the may be 2-3 partially eaten corpses lined up by the porch.

My dad also trained it to **** outside. It's a BOSS cat, and I got it from a shelter for like $50 (which was mostly for sterilization).

Thanks man. This is why I stopped posting pictures. I figured more people probably didnt appreciate the photos compared to the ones that did. Not to mention I got sick of carrying the camera around with me outside. lol

I stayed home today and was enjoying a nice nap on the couch listening to the rain when the phone woke me up. A buddy of mine needed me to look up a phone number for him and while I was talking to him I noticed 3 or so running around in the driveway. Got off the phone and loaded up.

#31 is no longer with us.

EDIT: I posted the above and literally turned around, opened the window and got #32.

If they multiply anything like mice do, there is not much point in thinning the herd. You need to eliminate the herd. Chipmunks are cute and all that, but in numbers they are just like rats/mice/squirrels, destructive.

"Eastern chipmunks mate in early spring and again in early summer, producing litters of four or five young twice each year. Western chipmunks only breed once a year. The young emerge from the burrow after about six weeks and strike out on their own within the next two weeks."

Well I've yet to see one thus far today.

Normally by now I'd see one or two, at the very least I'd hear them out there. None to be seen and all I hear is the wind and the birds.

Could it be!?!? Maybe.....they're aLL DEAD!!!!??? lol

Right now its probably mid to high 60's. I'm actually hoping that the weather can cooperate with me for a little longer until I'm done painting. lol

Beautiful day out today though. Windy as ****, full of sun and clear sky. I cant wait to get up on the ladder and put my headphones in.

Too bad you don't have a suppressed .22LR rifle when you go up on the roof. Then you could be a sniper on the critters if they dare show their faces...

I just saw one a few minutes ago, but she's still home getting ready for work so I'll have to wait before I can start shooting.
