Well, my wife and I brought home a cat today. The first cat I've had since leaving my parents house many moons ago. His name is Fritz, and I think we'll get along fine.

^^ In for this. We are getting our little man the snip in the next couple weeks.

When we had his mom spayed, the vet made us keep her isolated from the kittens for 2 weeks and poop in a litterbox full of shredded newspaper to make sure the litter didn't stick to the incision. She did OK after the first couple days, just need to make sure that you keep an eye on the incision, have a secure place where they are not going to climb and jump on things and pull out the stitches, and plenty of water. They won't eat but they will drink.
