I've often what happens when I take a quick nap while waiting for my laundry to be done...the mystery was solved when my friend picked up my phone and took photographic evidence of the cat taking advantage of my napping as a nice place to prop herself up....

When I got home last night, the pharmacy called with "an urgent message". I called back, and they were confused because the script for the amoxicillin was called in with the rabies vaccine, and they don't carry it, and weren't certain they could even give it to me. I assured them it was a mistake. Just the antibiotics, please.

So, I worried all day, and went in for the shots at 4:00. Shot in the arm (first dose of the vaccine) was nearly painless. I thought, "that wasn't so bad". Then the doc brought out this needle the size of a toothpick, and 4 inches long. I kid you not; this thing was huge. Bigger that the ones they use to draw blood. That was the one to go into my hand.

12 ml, which is a lot. About 4/10 of a shot glass, or almost 3/4 cubic inches. In the back of the hand. The stuff was cold and thick, and it felt like liquid fire going in. I clenched my teeth, and said I was okay, and he did it again. And a third time. About this time I experienced a "Vasovagal attack" which is a fancy way of saying I nearly passed out from the pain.

They made me lie down for about 15 minutes afterwards. My hand is balloned up like a cartoon character. I have to go back in for shots in the arm 3 or 4 more times. Thankfully, no more in the hand.

Word to the wise: if an unknown animal bites you, kill it and have it tested. Much easier and less painful than being treated.

I cant believe you went in...

Most birds exist solely as prey for cats. The larger ones as food for humans.

ummm... indoor pet cats dont tend to go on killing sprees outside.

it's the wild cats, outside, that need food/toys, who kill birds.

NZ logic.

Got a kitten. My gf and I have been looking for a few months and this cute furry girl moved in last Friday. She's 6-7 weeks old. My gf's son got one of her sisters so we can have double the fun on visits there.

Lana!

Those black stripes on her face look intense. she has big ear, i suspect she's going to be a big cat. My boy, below, had eyes the same size as today when he was kitten, now he's ginormous and 15lbs (we got him down from 17-18)

Yeah most everyone comments on her ears. She's grown noticeably even in the last week, but they are still a good 50% of her head lol. Her paws are on the bigger side, too.

Well since this is a place I can post kittahs with out being called le ghey ill share. I picked up this grey little 2 month old one lb kitty from local shelter in september. She was found in a garage with her littermates, but the mother died. Dotte is a mischievous energetic little bugger, as you can see from a few days ago she decided that crawling into the duct work, and successfully getting stuck for about 20 minutes until i got her out. funny thing is she seemed completely content with staying in the vent. This is what I get for removing the cover and then realizing i needed a small pry bar. So in a matter of 5 minutes for me to run down to the barn she jumped in and went about 10 foot until she came to a stop at the damper. The last picture is of her and my gf's 12 yo havana brown beansey.
