Default Knock-off products should all be burned to the ground!

While reading up on some possible upgrades for my new-to-me 09 Evo (as well as my Miata if the price was right), I found this:

My "Mishimoto Vs. Blackworks" comparison - evolutionm.net

I love how they put the knock off company's product against a wall which is straight, and the Blackworks fails horribly.

Aren't they the exact same product with a different name spray painted on the face? im pretty sure mishimioto is another cheap "knock-off"

He should blame UPS for dropping his package before delivery...

If you are trying to say that Mishimoto and Blackworks are made in the same plant, your wrong. If you think they have the same quality control standards, that's wrong, too because blackworks doesn't have QC apparently. lol

Look up some people who spent a ridiculous amount for their Koyo/Fluidyne only to open the box and see a nice big "Made in Taiwan/China" sticker on it. Cool.

I posted this b/c I have never, ever seen a rad. that warped and crooked.

Even though I can't stand UPS, I bet they had nothing to do with it. Watch the youtube video that was posted. At 0:13 seconds into the movie, the boxes are shown, neither one with a mark on it.

Yes I'm trying to say that...both are cheap Chinese radiators

weird...both use the same square shaped overflow fitting and machined water neck.

cool riveted name plate...very unique.

both have identical shitty construction and welds.

both ship is black stapled boxes with screen-printed logos
both have black spray painted logos on the face.
both budget radiators you commonly find on ebay within a few dollars of each other...typically hundreds less than brands like koyo.

I've been involved in a construction related trade for a decade. Walls aren't straight. That radiator had a crooked panel, but compare it against a straight-edge, not a sheetrock wall.

How do you know that they are not from the same plant? They are both cheap, chinese, ebay items. What makes you think that one company might get "A" items, and the other "B" items from the same assembly line? Or even the same items, but the radiator that happened to be "blackworks" had a QC issue?

Why do you even care?

If you want nice, call up Ron Davis or Griffin, pay a lot of money, and get something nice. Otherwise STFU; it's cheap *** chinese ****.

A cheap China product with poor quality control? Gasp. Products repackaged and sold under different names? Gasp.

The last line is what really gets me though:

Let's pick that apart for a minute.

1. I've found that most (all that come to my mind) radiators come shipped packaged in styrofoam. It doesn't have to be picked out, just blow it off with compressed air. No compressed air? Run a brush over it once. No brush? Give it a shake and it will fall out.

2. WTF kind of pamphlet or guide does a radiator come with? What does one need? Radiator installation is right there with an oil change on the scale of difficulty.

I guess you just disregarded what I had said about Koyo and Fluidyne? Read up on them. Still made in China/Taiwan. If guess to settle this , then all companies should be thrown into that generalization. lol

Oh yea, all those picture are stock photos, of course the cheaper version (Blackworks) will copy every single thing that it's competitor is doing. I read on Mishimoto's site that they have been around since 2003. (About Mishimoto)

Blackworks? who knows, it isn't listed anywhere.

It's called Customer Satisfaction I guess. For this guy, a piece of paper with all the warranty information etc etc was something that made him feel more comfortable with the product.

On a slightly different note, did anyone see that Blackworks offers anything and everything from turbo kits to coilovers to cam gears and valves? How often do you see a company that has enough money for R&D to produce all of that. Oh yea, most likely because they just copy all other companies.

What is the point of this thread? I seriously don't see WTF you're trying to say. Knockoff companies sell an inferior (in most cases) product for less money. Anyone buying it will half a brain knows all the risks involved with such purchase.
Many buy knockoff **** and it ends up working and lasting for a long time and they are MORE than satisfied with it. Some get a product that's messed up or fails. To cry about fit/finish on a knockoff is like crying about that 4 dollar hooker giving you aids.....

Who gives a ****?

^^No need to be douche canoe about the thread. The point is to further state that knock off brands which have popped up almost out of nowhere aren't in the same league as name brand, reputable companies.

New comers arrive everyday to the car modding world, you think they would search for this type of information? Ha!

It's nice that we can come to a forum and discuss things like this. Isn't that what a forum is for anyways?

Only person that's a douche canoe is yourself.
NO ONE in their right mind expects knock offs to have the same quality as name brands. That's why they cost a fraction of the price.

You're stating such obvious **** it feels like kindergarten in here..

Next you'll make a thread about how "no matter what anyone says" MIATA'S are cheap/fun cars

I'm getting a budget radiator. It's a risk that I'm willing to take.
