Default Lost a piece of history :(

Well, one of the all-time most bad *** aircraft was lost today...one of the last few airworthy B-17s. This was the Liberty Bell. Some of you may remember me posting pics of a B-17 not too long ago, and I'm sad to say...it was her :( I'm glad I got to see, hear and watch it fly pretty recently. I got to go inside and look at everything and marvel.

More pictures that I took here- http://www.flickr.com/photos/3026821...7626831862777/

The only loss that made me sadder was that crew that pulled a nearly new b29 out of the ice, got it ready to ferry, and had it catch fire as they were taxing out.

Oh that sucks. To think that one person's shortcut fix destroyed it...

That's one less of an awesome aircraft. I've gotten to see one fly before at the EAA airshow, very cool...just imagine being the poor bastard on the ground when 300+ of those were flying overhead.

I think Discovery Channel (or someone) had documentary footage of this. I was told someone here at work watched it years ago. Still remember the sad story...
