You know how many time people say "dude id dominate you if I had and STI"....I swear to god....which I usally respond with "...I hope that STI is pushing 300+ whp cause stock ones lose pretty quick". granted thats when people are talking straightline. But I love the guys whole think that a STI would dominate in the canyons(which they can)...not that they are a bad car...there awsome car's actually. ITs just fun passing people with a 97whp miata uphill......let alone when its turboed...oh well. I like STI's and I know how fast of a car they can be. but all in the right hands. cause then Id be the one being passed

btw -I use the STI as the example cause a)they always wreck on the canyon I go to b)people seem to use them as the defacto ultimate import racerboy car and C) cause alot of the people who have em think that power and AWD cures crappy skill.

if you pay attention in that magazine, they do talk about how evos and sti's are awesome all the time, but they also mention that those cars are only fast because they make up for lack of driver skill, who can take a turn in an awd car? everyone, but they always talk about how it actually requires skill to drive rwd or even fwd vehicles. also, i love that time attack miata, i want it bad. and i love that magazine a lot. i dont love maxxis tires though, sorry

It takes a good suspension set up and some knowledge to get the most out of an all wheel drive car. I changed almost everything on my WRX to get it where I want it to be.

Sport Compact Car ceased being a halfway decent magazine a few years ago when the editorial staff all left. It used to be populated by pretty smart dudes... used to be... and had good tech articles and what not. Of course they had a lot of ricerboi ads because you have to bring in some money. Now it reads like Turbo & Hi-Tech Performance with the shitty spelling, lame-*** pictures, and no content.

You will. They're just new to the US market. Unfortunately the Z1 drift only comes in 18, and the ZR9 are impossible to get ahold of.

maybe, i think it has more to do with the fact that we all had maxxis tires on our bikes when we were kids. i also dont like their ads.
but i like sport compact car, although i do agree with firedog that the old crew was better. it was better back then, all the cheap cars like 240sx, civics, miatas, sentras, etc. it's still the best magazine out there though. at least they dont do how to articles on tachometers and body kits.

Its still just a "New Car Magazine". the new MX-5 doesnt have a single FI kit yet, so theres nobody out there to say its the ULTIMATE, since theres no cashflow from that market. if a kit comes out giving the new MX-5 300-350hp, there WILL be talk.

Grassroots Motorsports is a fun one, anything where modified cars still have a chance against the "latest and greatest".
