Best burger I've had in awhile was at 5 Guys... The amount of fries they give you is OBSCENE! Steak n Shake is also up there on the list.

Sadly there isn't an In & Out here and I've never been to one. Typically I refuse any type of fast food but honestly I'll try In & Out if I get the chance. Never heard a bad thing about them.

5 Guys is supposed to be pretty good, there are one or two of those here.

Yeah, no In & Out's here either... I will be driving to Axis Power Racing this weekend in St. Louis. Maybe I will come across one in my 12 hour journey. O.o

Edit: Just checked... Looks like they are out on the West Coast.

Don't know if you've got them in SC, but check out Pei Wei if you like really good and inexpensive Chinese. There is one in Creive Coeur right off Olive Blvd and I-270.

Thanks for the heads up... Closest one to me is in Charlotte, NC (~45mins). My g/f's family lives there, maybe next time we go up I will get a chance to check it out.

Its owned by a higher end Chinese place called P.F.Changs Bistro but PeiWei is the same food but more of a quick service than fine dining. You order at the door and take a number then find a table. They cook your food in the open kitchen you can see then bring it to you. Average meal there is $11.00 for me and their servings are very large so its actually 2 meals.

We do have P.F. Changs here. Been once... Good food, but EXPENSIVE for Chinese food IMHO. Anyone else out there have some good place ideas to hit up?

I was there with some friends and I told them about what you said. They laughed, hard. We spent a while trying to eat the fries without looking stupid. It got us some attention and these people invited us to smoke with them. I declined. But they thought we were high. Good times.

On the surface it seems like an awesome idea. Bacon? Cheese? Fried Chicken? This is going to be ******* sweet! But when all of that grease hits your stomach.....watch out. Its too bad the poop thread didn't exist at that point, I would have been the winner of that bish :(.

I've been very tempted by the DD, but I think I would rather just do one homemade. cut chicken breasts in half, and load them with crispy bacon and cheese, and make up some kind of sauce. I'm sure theirs is thousand island based, with some seasonings. Throw on some fresh purple onion and eat it up! Though I think I'd rather just make a good chicken sandwich with actual bread if I was doing that. Seems too messy that way.

Holy carp, I had no idea this was a real sandwich. Thought it was just something they threw together for the picture.

But no, I go to the KFC website, and sure as hell, it's an actual product.

I've seen at least 2 different commercials for it..

I love chicken and everything, but a chicken-chicken-chicken sandwich sounds kind of... gross...

Check out the nutrition values (or lack of nutrition).

Calories / Fat (g) / Sodium (mg)
540 / 32 / 1380

MMM. Sodium. A full days worth in one sandwich.

Is it a sad comment on today's dietary climate that I'm actually surprised at how low the caloric content of that sandwich is?

On a totally unrelated note, it turns out that Anatidaephobia is not actually a recognized clinical diagnosis.

I was actually surprised to. I was thinking more like 800-1000 calories. 540 really isn't too bad considering how much food you get, if they actually do give you something that looks remotely like that. The fat and sodium, and the other stuff they don't list I'm sure kills it.

Over the weekend mine is going to make it in the food thread. I love chicken!

Once I had a sandwich at a Cuban place where they substituted fried plantains for the bread. I made that **** at home too.

This.

If I do eat fast food chicken, original recipe is not a bad flavor (provided I can taste it over the ******* grease)... but this sandwich made me soul sad.

In-N-Out: Best. Fast Food. Ever. It's activity I actually have to plan for when I go out West.

Steak N Shake: pretty good, agree on the shoestring fries, so I just go slob style and tear them up.

5 Guys is pretty good too. Had that in DC after a lot of people talked about it.

The one to have here in Dallas is Twisted Root Burger. It's not fast food, it's a big ridiculous gourmet burger. You can get some less common meats on it, like Buffalo, and Ostrich/Venison. It's great stuff.

Pei Wei = the good.

I'm bigger on Japanese food, but only because I want to justify parting with the cash to have Kobe hibachi style. Favorite of all the prepared animal carcass one can have.

Speaking of pad choices, I made the mistake of being in a hurry and ordering Burger King on the cheap today. Nothing special, just the two shitty Whoppers for 3bux. I remembered why it is that I never do this during the private screening of Return of the King later that afternoon.

**** I eat out a lot.
