Default Sometimes I wish I'd just rent.

Well, being a homeowner just plain ******* sucks sometimes. The wife and I decided to finish off our den with Pergo... standard laminate to match the kitchen and front hall. So we bought the stuff and the underlay and I had a buddy come over and help me move all the furniture out... and pulled up the carpet. ****!!!

When the previous owners put the stuff down in the kitchen and hall, they also laid down a 3/8" plywood sheet underneath it. ****!!! I thought I could get the job halfway done tonite, but it was too dark to **** around at HD getting an extra 300sqft of plywood. ****!!! And my wife is 30weeks preggers and can't help. It'll get done tomorrow, but that means I've gotta break out the table-saw and circular-saw and make a ****-ton more mess... not to mention the extra $300 worth of plywood.

Plus a pic of Mike(icantdo55) displaying his need for 225's and my solution to the extra time on my hands tonight.

Majority of my home reno projects always turned out to eat up way more time - usually because of previous owners hack job. Most recent find was hardwood floors running under a wall and into an adjacent room that cantilevered a span to a concrete slab. Explain the springiness in the floor.

Oh wow.. that sucks.

Kinda reminds me of trying to replace our side door. The guy at Lowes told us that there was a standard for the hinge location on doors so the wife and I bought a door with frame, and had them keep the frame since it wouldn't fit in the Neon's trunk and we didn't know how to install the whole frame anyway. Needless to say... it took a lot of routing, sanding, filling, and repainting to make that door fit in the existing frame.

Oh man, my house is the definition of hack job. The house itself is solid, but every renovation done to it was a complete hack.

Also, NEVER EVER EVER buy doors that aren't prehung. Kotomile learned that the hard way, haha.

I have cabinets and granite on order..doing the work with my father-in-law...can't wait.

at least all you need is another layer of plywood, not like extensive water damage and code violations....yeah i just finished watching 3 episodes of Holmes on homes.
