And here's the homepage for the whole project (not sure if the site is maintained by BEGi, but it's linked to from their homepage): http://www.cb1project.com/

"Custom bucket seats"? Those are from a freaking Miata.

Even if it is making "only" ~500hp, it's only a boost controller adjustment away from more...or a turbocharger upgrade away from MUCH more.

And those seats don't look particularly like Miata seats.

Also on the second site it says 12psi instead of the 7.5psi on the hot rod site. I love that guys work, immaculate.

Hmm. Yeah. Not to take away from Corky's mad skills (I've been drooling at this car for months), but that number is conservative. We have a "mild" 351 here (at Jesel) with a hydraulic camshaft, carb, no forced induction that makes 563 all day long. A streetracer can get close to 500 in his 5.0 mustang (302 windsor) just buying parts from Summit. I'm sure he's making (or easily can make) lots and lots of power.

He's using a camshaft gear drive. They're worse than a chain. Tisk tisk. He didn't buy any drivetrain components from us

Why's the camshaft gear drive worse than a chain, Tim?

It makes a lot of noise, all of my experience with the gear drive has been positive. I personally hate the wine that the gear drives have though, so I would have went the chain route.

I'm sure it's not just one of those dyno queens either.

the gears are usually louder, but far better. formula one for example uses all gear drive parts. cams, water pump, alternator, etc. they are more efficient, accurate, and lightweight when done properly.

If I want to get paid on Thursdays I have to say chains and gears suck compared to belts. Closest competition is gears so they suck more than chains.

F1 uses gears so what does that tell you?

I do know that gears do impart certain bad harmonics to certain valvetrains that belts absorb. All pro-stock drag cars use belts, all top fuel cars use gears, all nextel, busch, craftsman truck engines use belts.

0-60 in 2.85

1.15 g's

What's this thing weigh?

I agree with Philip though. 5-600 HP is doable with an NA big block, let alone what could be done with turbo's. I'm sure the decision to go Fjord Windsor had to do with the Shelby-Ford mystique and balancing the weight/ power/ drivability.

Any word on price yet?
