Default Everyone wants to Race....I love my Miata!!!

Just replaced my Clutch master and slave cylinders because I had the notorious issue where the clutch would grab 1mm off the floor or not disengage at all...for the record for others who may have the same problem, change the master and slave and your good to go, its ******* amazing how nice my clutch feels now!!

ANYWAYS...

I decided to go out for a spin to see how she's working and to see how my headlights look now that I aimed them both up a tad (Bright as a *****!)...First I head out on some back roads figuring I would take it easy to make sure all is well. After a few miles it seemed fine so I jumped on the highway (15-Meritt pkwy) to head towards Wallingford. No sooner did I get on the highway and a 2000-2002 Maxima pulled up nexted to me. **** it, I just rolled on in fifth and just watch the space grow between us up to about 115 as he tried to catch me. I slowed up and watched him sit back for a few miles...Then he aparently wanted more but did'nt wanna start side by side since he just throttled up and passed me....no matter, I just down shifted to fourth and reeled him in from there only to embarras him to the point where he stayed about 100 yards behind me the rest of the way to my exit.....

After getting off the highway on Rt5, a sentra pulled up to me revving the **** out of his car as he passed me....we'll now I'm in the ******* mood to put people in there place since the Maxima was trying to screw with me, so I throttle up and blow by him and dip through some very light traffic and put a few hundred feet between us. I figure that'd be all I hear and see from that ******....but no, I see headlights coming weavin around cars to catch up....no way does this guy want more. Sure enough he's pulling the same stunt as the maxima and just blow by me. So I down shift to third to get ready and then throttled up as he passes me. By the top of third I was probably a car ahead, shifted to 4th and put another length or two between us. I must admit though, that ******* Sentra surprised me for keeping up the way it did. Luck had it that we came up on a traffic signal and were stopped side by side. The guy was pretty cool and was quick to offer props! He was telling me that his car was the SE-R spec V version...which apparently only weighs in the 2500lb range and comes stock with ~180hp and ~180ft lbs....I'll be damned

There were quite a few other miscellaneous ***** who just revved and staged side by side next to me but nothing as eventful as the max and sentra...all in good fun, car runs like a top again!!

Yeah they did...I prolly have them aimed a little higher than I should though (to other drivers), to make up for not having bixenons or another source for high beams. But they have a nice even cut off and light up the road an ample distance for the speeds I generally drive at night....If I ever want more light, I could always get 55 watt bulbs and ballasts which would be significantly brighter than the oem 35 watt stuff I have in there now....I would recommend this mod to anyone willing to undertake a little challenge, well worth it!

I don't understand the ricer fly by thing, it's like they think they will beat you if they get a giant headstart... I freaking hate it when people do that

It allows for them to retain some ego in their view after they got beat by a hair dresser's car.

I think the ricer flyby lets them tell all there buddies how they won and how scared you were. "I was racing this Miata and just as it was getting fun the guy lets off. Didn't have the nads to keep going. Jeez what a loser!"

I can't believe people are reving at you. I get nothing!

That makes sense, even the non ricer V8 guys do it too.

I love how they always come back for more, like maybe their car will suddenly be faster the second or third time.

My car is faster because it has 15" wheels and less carbon fiber.

When I see someone preparing for a ricer fly-by... I stick my arm out the window and give a good, long thumbs down.

I need boost - end of story. When I campaigned for SCCA AutoX SM2 and had stripes and badging, I had every mommy van in town wanting to run. Only ran the older Altimas - I knew I had some chance if I could get the jump.
Now that I'm fully caged, and easily discernable mods to the exterior, I've got every 'Stang and GTO wanting to run.
Car is estimated in the 2K pound region, so 250 hp should be one helluva hoot!

When I can keep the front quarter panel ahead of a GTO I'll be content.

I'm so tired of getting smoked right now...I can't wait til do more power mods, but need brakes to match first, and safety equipment.

Generally I can't get ANYONE to run, except for the guys in really modded Mustangs and F-bodies. Then yesterday I have an M3 (6cyl) pull up next to me and want to play when I'm doing 55mph on the interstate because cylinder 1 stopped firing. So is life.
