Maybe one of the admins can chome in on this feature.

I just think it would be easier to take picture submissions for like two months and then another month for voting.
oh really... well if that is so authoritaii where you at?

Hell, it looks like he hit his dog with that fender.

But I digress...

I'd like to see M2CUPCAR's beautiful car on the cover with the tree on top of it, much like the picture his avatar is taken from. It honors the spirit of the Miataturbo.net culture without taking itself too seriously. And it was a great car...

I propose adding some smaller detail/varied shots of each car, maybe inset at the perimeter (sides, bottom or top) of the car featured for each month. There's a lot of nice stuff going on under the hoods and in the cockpit of some of the cars where we'd only see the exterior. And if mine makes the calendar it would be a great opp to place the tree photo.

I think that's an awesome idea!

Smaller thumbnails of manifolds, turbos, exhausts, suspension, interiors, etc, would be ****.

I like that idea, and I was going to tell you you should submit the one of it under the tree.

Default another suggestion

A pool of skilled photoshop users to do the final production on these images would be beneficial. To what degree of PS embellishment is up to the masses I suppose, but let's face it, the more flamboyant the better.

For example- before:

And just over an hour later:

I would desaturate the yellow a little bit, its a bit distracting. besides that it looks great, very nice natural lighting

Best strategy for post processing is to start with a single image and make a set of styled steps to arrive at the final piece. Once that's agreed upon then those steps could be applied to the other images.

In <5 minutes:

and another embellished image (rotornut's miata):

I wish I had PS. All I have is a regular **** photo program that auto edits my photos for me.

I wish I spent more time playing with programs like that. I don't have a clue how you guys make the photos jump out at you like that. Looks ******* awesome!

I was in it before photoshop- so that helps.
IMO Gimp is the best thing going- open source image editor and can certainly achieve all the results above- and more.

Anyone ever notice how GRM's photos all look like crap? Great articles, horribly average amateur photos.

Ive been using adobe ps for such a long time I just cant deal with gimp. It seems to do a lot of the easy stuff alright but idk if you can really do everything you can with adobe ps (which is a lot). Of course you cant argue with the price, haha
