Default The missing MX numbers

Had a somewhat random thing I was wondering about with Mazdas. With their RX series, they came out pretty much in the order of their numbers. I don't think there was an RX-1, but the RX-2 through RX-5, 7, and 8 are all accounted for, and I'm pretty sure there was an RX-6 somewhere.

But with the MX's, there was an MX-3, 5, and 6. But I've never heard of an MX-1, 2, or 4. Anyone know if these appeared on something - concept cars, stuff not sold here, or the like?
