Default dyno/tuner locating service: www.localdyno.com

Hey guys,

Please check out the following website and see how it works for you:
Local Dyno - Dyno Directory

We put this site together as a service to the greater community, and I'd love to get any and all feedback. Does it work? Does it provide real results? Is it easy to use?

Thanks

Where does it pull the results from? The shop having a certain type of dyno? I searched for my local zip code and it found a few, but also missed a few. It also posted a few that have closed.

Nice. First problem: scroll wheel usually zooms in google maps, but on the site it just scrolls down and replaces the map with the background like so:

Name: wP3gX7v.png
Views: 10
Size: 505.2 KB

Also one of the places in my area had a link (shePerformance Data Solutions LLC. - LocalDyno) but cliking it from the map got a 404 page though it is a neat one: http://localdyno.com/www.performancedatasolutions.net

Using the map more, the three-quarter-screen thing is quite annoying. Either make it less than the full screen width or make it as tall as the screen.

On the "Advance Search", using IE9, I put my zip code in the "City/State and/or Zip", Like This:

Clicked "search", and got this:

I think this is a great idea, but it does not seem to be working yet. NOTE: I have not signed in for this site.

Are all these shops confirmed to work with MS stuff or just dyno shops?

I find it quite hilarious that the dyno in the middle of no where, Northwest Machine Products, is listed. It was literally a dynojet in a car port in the middle of a field. Loved it.

It is missing KO racing in Oregon City though. And of course CSTG.

Wish list of features:

- include type of dyno -- DynaPack, DynoJet, etc.
- include services offered. Do they do flat rental (tune it yourself), or do they include tuning services?
- hours and pricing would be awesome, but I understand that kind of info goes out of date very quickly.

They are not MS- specific. We've mined approximately 2400 shops through various Dyno Manufacturers' locators and whittled down to what you see here, again, just trying to aggregate dyno service shops into one location. It hasn't officially launched yet, but we're working on it.

If you know of a shop not listed, try the 'Submit a Shop' button if you have a minute.

In terms of the wish list- we're still gathering data, but we hope that shops will populate some of what we couldn't find readily available (like dyno type, as shops often do not list what they have down to the model#)

It's a work in progress, but fairly well populated already, so feel free to use it now as a starting point.

This is a really really good idea once it's working properly and getting updated regularly.

Might be interesting to have a yelpesque customer review function. Of course, there is always yelp for that...

Worked flawlessly the first time. Closed the link, opened it again, and the map just displays a as blank blue sheet.

Did you click on the search by location tab, but then not allow your location to be shared?

Wow, this is excellent. Its otherwise ******* impossible to find out who and what shops have dynos, not to mention trying to figure out what the heck they've got for a dyno.
