Default My friend had wheels stolen in Columbia, MO

My friend had his garage broken into while visiting parents for Christmas. He lost most of his tools, and this set of wheels and tires. This was in Columbia, MO.

4 Tenzo Project 7 Wheels with Nexxen N3000 Summer Tires
2 of the wheels had some rash on the spokes, which were covered in white paint, and 2 of the tires are pretty worn down.

Here they are'

If anyone sees these on craigslist, or them on a car, please take down the plate #.

One of my good friends had his civic stolen after the first weekend that he had his white rims on it. Since then I will never let a white rim go near my car.

Sorry that your friend had his ---- stolen. I will check CL down here, but doubt it will travel this far.

Sucks weve had a rash of wheel thefts this year, but here in texas, its mostly GM 20s and 22s off the trucks and SUVs.

On a side note, is that car pearl white or a flat pearl. Looks good, on the bumper its got some coloring like a pearl paint.

What kind of wheel locks did he have on it.

That's a stock MS6 color, the same as mine. It's definitely not flat, but I would say medium gloss, almost looks like there is metal-flake in it. Very sexy.

No wheel locks. The ms6 was wearing winter tires on steelies, so these wheels were sitting in a garage. Guy went out of town for holidays, comes back to garage wide open, wheels gone, along with a bunch of tools.

We're still trying to figure out what happened, the garage can only be opened by remote or code. Far as he knows, no one else has either, unless maybe landlord.

Is that worth a typical homeowner's insurance deductible? Aren't they usually $1 to $2k? Either way keep checking ebay and craiglook. I'd imagine it's hard to sell wheels on the street without the internet

Its actually pretty easy to get into garages. Hes lucky only stuff in his garage got nabbed. A year ago we had 75% of the houses in our neighborhood get hit (small maybe 30-40 houses). people rented enterprise or uhaul vans came in on a sunday morning when everyone was at church, got into the garage then into the house, and robbed everyone blind.

He has renters insurance. Total loss is very close to his deductible. Out includes the wheels and about $400 worth of tools

Ah screw that. I've never had to file a renter's policy claim but I can imagine his rates would go up after a pay out. Just keep tabs on the usual websites 90% thieves suffer from some form of retardation.

Actually, just found out his renter's insurance deductible is only $500. But he only has receipt for the wheels, not any of the tools. He also just realize all his oem parts are gone, as well as the replacement splash shield he hadn't gotten around to installing yet.

Why no wheel locks? There like >$10 on amazon, if you can afford the wheels/tires then you can afford the wheel locks. No excuses.

I'd also like to add, that if your spending more on wheels then tires, then your doing it wrong.

When it starts getting cold out my garage door starts acting up. Sometimes I'll hit the button and as I'm backing out see the garage door go halfway down and then stop and go back up. If I had just driven off I never would've even noticed. Once I lube up the worm gear it works fine for another year. Might be something he should check.

Homeowner's/Renter's will cover tools but they won't cover the wheels and the parts. If you read the policy, "cars and their parts" will be specifically excluded from coverage.

I understand the the OP is no longer here, but still good info for the rest of you. Homeowner's policy is the most boring, dry reading that everyone SHOULD read at least once. Your auto policy as well.
