Default Brock lesnar and UFC 100

First off, how many of you guys like Brock? I think this guy is a ******* monster and he's only going to get better. Lots of people love to hate him, and I can understand why. But as far as in the ring goes, this guy is ******* unreal with his size, power, and speed. Maybe he was a little over the top at the end, but he did come from WWE.

Secondly, how many of you guys caught that $100k knock out of the night by Dan henderson? I was so happy he took out bisping and totally loved the "shut up" smash at the end of the fight.

I wish I could link videos to the fight, but I cant seem to find any.....

What did he do that was so bad? I vaguely remember reading something about unsportsmanlike conduct flashing on my screen as I went to check my email the other day.

Well, first he screamed in Frank Mir's face after the fight, something like "let me see you talk **** now". Then he went pacing around the cage like a gorilla screaming at the camera and flipping off the crowd. Then he finished off by saying "**** bud light" which was the main sponsor, and then proceeded to say he was gonna go home and drink a coors light and maybe get on top of his wife. lol

He does have a big head, no doubt about that.

I really hoped Brock would get his face stomped in, but I sure the **** didn't think Mir had a remote chance in hell. If Mir walked around at 325 pounds like Lesnar does it would've been a different story, but I bet Brock had easily 75 on Frank.

Watching him freak out after the fight, spitting his mouth piece at the camera and slobbering all over the place... looked like a rabid dog on a serious roid rage episode, and I think they should've tested his **** myself.. Thats just me.

Dude is a monster but acts like a clown. He just might get on top of his wife. It's not really set in stone.

I was laughing like crazy when he was stomping around screaming his face off. I like Mir, but I like Brock better. I think the fact that he's just such a ******* big guy that can move around like 145lb guy is insane.

300 lbs on top of his wife? LOL

I'm not so sure Fedor would beat him. Fedor's 230 lbs.

Yup Brock's the real thing; acts like a WWE clown, but I don't hate him. I was laughing at his speech too.
I think he'll learn from this and clean up his act.
Not a fan either, but I don't think there's anyone who could consistently beat him.
As an athlete there's a lot about him that's admirable.

Perhaps the UFC needs to split the heavyweight division at 250 lbs. So there's a 225-250 lb division, and 250+ lbs. However that means Brock will have few opponents, and may have to come down to 250 to have more fights.

Completely agree about the heavy weight division being split.

Here's the post fight interview where Brock apologizes. It's true though, he came from pro wrestling and I'm sure some of that panache carries over.

i honestly can't stand Frank mir's face. he always has that cocky little smirk on his face just makes me wanna hit him......luckily lesnar did that for me lol.

I kinda wanted Bisping to win actually but i didn't particularly care, henderson landed an awesome punch and knocked him back to the 2nd grade lol

GSP dominated Alves all night, and unless he said something about his groin (which he kinda said comically) no one would have ever known

was a good 3 fights an i thoroughly enjoyed it lol

The Henderson/Bisping KO punch was vicious. Up there with the Pacquiao/Hatton KO punch ... well except that Pacquiao is only 140 lbs and the gloves are thicker.

The 2nd Henderson punch was nasty - I wonder if he realized Bisping was out before landing it.

1> Frank Mir came in around 235. I distinctly remember remarking about the 30 lb weight difference.

2> Brock lesnar is an *******, plain and simple. That being said, he's from one of the Dakotas, and is named BROCK. Come on, that just rocks.

Bisping sucks, Henderson telegraphed that big right hand 2 days earlier.
No way someone like Machida or Silva would've eaten that.

Henderson is a ******* brick. He said the second punch was to shut Bisping up. He knew Bisping was out, he talked about it right after the fight.

I agree that the heavyweights need to be split up. Brock is monster and shouldn't be fighting guys at Mir's size.

I was reading online about all the possible match ups they might have for Brock and some of those guys look like they would actually have a chance to take him out, but I still doubt it. Shaq said he's been training MMA for the past 10 years and wants a shot at Brock! I would love to see Brock freight train Shaq into the ground and just hammer fist his face for an entire round!

Brock was shown, with a Bud Light in hand, at a post fight interview and apologized for his behavior.

That being said, I think he runs a serious risk of devolving UFC into a WWF mentality. Dana White has done a good job (thus far) of marketing the sport. But there has been an increase in "smack talk" that isn't necessary to propogate the UFC or MMA in general.

Lesner should be in a super-heavy weight division, but until one is developed, will be a force to reckon with. However, he is not invincible.

As to Henderson/Bisping, great knock-out and the flying-ninja-squirrel-strike-of-death was rewarded by White in the form of a $100K bonus.

More like 50 lbs, minimum.

Frank Mir didn't cut weight for the weigh in (~24 hrs before the fight), so on fight night he was 235. Lesnar like most other fighters, had to cut weight to the max of the division, which is 265 lbs for heavyweights. So at the fight he may have been 290 lbs.

Muscular athletes can cut 15-20 lbs (maybe 25 lbs for Brock) by dehydrating defore the weigh in, then rehydrate the weight back for the fight:

Here's an interesting insight into St. Pierre's and his trainer Greg Jackson's game plan:

BTW has anyone seen an analysis on how Alves was able to keep getting up from under GSP?
