Now that the Miata is almost gone I have no reason to stick around... I just wanted to say thanks for the awesome time I had here. I learned a lot and had a great time.

I'll miss (some of) you guys. Hopefully I'll own another Miata in the future and come back here.

EDIT: 2,000th post, bitches

What a great way to make your 2,000th post! I often thought about what I'd do when I hit that mark, but I think I probably used it up in the Beer of the Day thread. Maybe at 3,000 I'll be at 300whp?

There are a few reasons to stick around. Even if you don't have a Miata, there is a lot to learn and cool, masculine guys.

I wonder if we need a "non-Miata" forum?

I'm just a n00b (to this forum at least), but i would welcome a non-miata forum, since i have another turbo car or two that would enjoy the input from the experts here.

I haven't had a Miata in almost 4 years and this is still my main forum. I just have no other friends.

Please no more forums. Being on 2 is good. Just expand the BS section.

the more forums you create the more it will dilute this one.
plus there's already the new one rick made a few weeks ago.
I say just get some of the mods on here to stay out of the BS section and let people make whatever posts/threads they want (within the forum rules of course) without shitting down threads just because "oh this is so played out" or some other PMS'ing faggy bullshit, and it will keep more folks on here despite not owning a miata anymore.

I take pretty good care of my cars but having a hell of a time keeping a miata running. Have killed 2 smooth running engines, yet watch people neglect and beat the **** out of miatas without a single issue.

Ya I'm with you: It blows my mind at how shitty some of the setups on here are that are still kickin yet others that take their time and do it right somehow still manage to break things.

Blame Mazda.

I've modified many cars, beat on many cars, owned many cars.

I've NEVER messed with another manufacturer that had such differences in motor strength between two identical model cars. I don't know if it's a lack of uniform machining tolerances, or what, but it's ridiculous.

The stock BP in my Escort was a "freak." (300k miles, pulled like CRAZY, had no problems stomping other EGTs with bolt ons.) The F2T in my MX6 should have blown up a long time ago, and i've seen many people blow theirs up while not pushing it near as hard as me, on better setups. I've even seen 270 degree water temps in that motor, and it didn't bat an eye. Other people blow headgaskets at 240 degrees.

Hell, look at all the unofficial variants of the KL-series motors. Technically, there's only 3, arguably 4. Mazda raided the parts bin at the end of the run and there's some real mutts out there that just don't make sense.

Looks like somebody got promoted to micky d's HQ and no longer has time to tinker with miatas.
